Obama’s “Executive Action” on Immigration Just Took a Big Hit, and Trey Gowdy Couldn’t Be Happier
Constitution
301

Once again, Congressman Trey Gowdy (R-SC) is pushing back at President Obama’s unconstitutional power grab on illegal immigration. Gowdy has been an early and constant critic of Obama’s decision to unilaterally provide amnesty to illegal immigrants living in the United States. Rather than attempting to work with the Congress to devise a rational solution to the problem of illegal immigration, Obama has issued an Executive Order establishing a program called “Deferred Action for Parents of Americans and Lawful Permanent Residents,” or DAPA.

Recently, Federal District Court Judge Andrew Hanen of Brownsville, Texas issued a temporary court order forcing the administration to halt the program. The court determined the program does not comply with the Administrative Procedures Act. Judge Hanen’s ruling was handed down just days before Homeland Security was supposed to put the program into effect, giving an estimated five million illegal immigrants de facto legal status to live and work in the country.

Representative Gowdy enthusiastically endorsed Judge Hanen’s ruling:

The President’s extra-constitutional actions were rooted in political expediency and were devoid of a serious legal underpinning. This is not and never was about immigration law – as evidenced by the President’s consistent admission that he lacked the legal authority to do precisely what he did.

Of course, this is not the end of the story. The Administration will certainly appeal the ruling, and it is likely to eventually reach the Supreme Court. There, the Justices will have the responsibility of enforcing the Constitution.

Thank you Mr. Trey Gowdy for having the BALLS to once AGAIN put that lying asshole in His place.. God I wish you would run for the White House..

    • CintiCB

I was shown a list of names for who could be the next possible president and asked to choose for whom I would vote. There was a space for ‘write in’. I put Trey Gowdys’ name there. He would make a good president. He’s not a wimp and will not ‘back down’. He’s intelligent, too.

      • SimplyZen

He’s on my short list too. Him and Ted Cruz.

        • Jacky

          Hear, hear, yep, me too

        • monacall

Trey Gowdy is eligible Ted Cruz is not…..

          • sweetsuzee

Actually, Ted Cruz is illegible per our constitution. He was born of one parent who was a natural born American who had lived her for 10 consecutive years or longer before going to Canada.

          • monacall

And I am happy for his mother….BUT HE WAS BORN IN CANADA……. doesn’t make him a natural born citizen…. he is NOT ELGIBLE….end of story…. just like obozo isn’t eligible….obozo went to school as a “foreign student”. So do we want to keep trashing the constitution….

          • sweetsuzee

Although I said “illegible” I actually meant eligible. Obviously you understood correctly. First off, I am not defending Obama because I despise him, however you have NEVER seen any evidence of the fact that he ever attended school here as a foreign student. That rumor started because there was a Soetoro who attended Occidental and was granted foreign student funding. However, that happened way back in the early 1920’s and people jumped to incorrect conclusions when they learned of a “Soetoro” and “foreign aid student” without knowing when that incident happened. Second, our own laws say that Ted Cruz is a natural citizen at birth –

8 U.S. Code § 1401 – Nationals and citizens of United States at birth

            (g) a person born outside the geographical limits of the United States and its outlying possessions of parents one of whom is an alien, and the other a citizen of the United States who, prior to the birth of such person, was physically present in the United States or its outlying possessions for a period or periods totaling not less than five years, at least two of which were after attaining the age of fourteen years: Provided, That any periods of honorable service in the Armed Forces of the United States, or periods of employment with the United States Government or with an international organization as that term is defined in section 288 of title 22 by such citizen parent, or any periods during which such citizen parent is physically present abroad as the dependent unmarried son or daughter and a member of the household of a person

            (A) honorably serving with the Armed Forces of the United States, or

            (B) employed by the United States Government or an international organization as defined in section 288 of title 22, may be included in order to satisfy the physical-presence requirement of this paragraph. This proviso shall be applicable to persons born on or after December 24, 1952, to the same extent as if it had become effective in its present form on that date

However, anyone born prior to 11-14-86 when this law was last amended, their American citizen parent had to have lived here for sno less than 10 years rather than just 5, prior to living elsewhere.

          • monacall

Ok, he was physically born in Canada…. granted he had a mom that was born here…. but Cruz has DUAL CITIZENSHIP…. why would you want someone that is not a NATURAL BORN CITIZEN…. why would you want to take for granted that he has no allegiance to any other country but America…. his father was born in CUBA…. so tell me who does this person have sole allegiance to…. Cruz was born in Canada, his mother America, his father Cuba….. which one is the better country to Cruz? What did obozo say before he became president…..this is what our founding fathers MEANT WHEN THEY SAID NATURAL BORN CITIZEN…. for these two offices…ESPECIALLY…. these two offices…..DO YOU SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING WITH. The Person who has no allegiance to this country…. look at obozo…do you really want to take that chance again…. there’s 318 million people in this country and you want someone that isn’t eligible…OMG John Gruber is so right….i do not trust anyone that says one thing and means another….” trust me” kind of thing…. no we have had all the “trust me” bull shot we all need…. now think!!! Which one would you want…. someone that is born from another country or someone that is a “natural born citizen…”.

            wrong!
            wrong!
            wrong!
AND, his father is an alien, which compounds his ineligibility.

Cruz was born in Canada and as a Canadian citizen, both his parents, yes, I know he said he renounced his Canadian citizenship, where were the press when he applied for American citizenship, stood in line and took the test and oath? Nada, dat where, if in fact he did these things as required by law. ( I had a niece born in Canada to a service man, she lived in America almost all her life and had until age 21 to decide which country to be a citizen of, she chose America and had to go by the immigration law). , his father, an exiled Cuban, and his mother, although American born did not live in America the qualifying time. Cruz is not eligible to be president, in fact, if there were an investigation it will be found he ran for and was elected to the U.S. Senate while still a Canadian citizen. Vote for him if you wish, I will not.

          • shavager

P.S., at one time ONLY the citizenship of a FATHER of a child designated that child as a “citizen”, the law later was changed to allow a child to achieve citizenship from the MOTHER of the child, provided SHE had lived in the U.S. for FIVE CONSECUTIVE years and was 19 YEARS OLD–Stanley Ann Dunham had NOT been here 5 consecutive years and was only 18 YEARS old, so technically, Obama did NOT get citizenship from her IF he was born in Kenya as his maternal grandmother claimed and has been reported by some people as well as the Kenyan government.

          • sweetsuzee

I’m glad you finally understand !!

          • shavager

I understood that all along, I DON’T agree that Cruz meets “natural law” requirement, he’s supposed to be a dual citizen though he renounced Canadian citizenship, but I fully believe the original intent was CITIZEN PARENTS and he doesn’t qualify as ‘natural born’ because of birth IN Canada and father being a Cuban citizen when he was born. For those same reasons–neither Bobby Jinal nor Marco Rubio should be considered–their parents were citizens of foreign country when they were both born on U.S. soil. Watch the LEFT howl in disagreement with their eligibility should either get traction to the nomination. They don’t believe in ‘what’s good for the gander’ is good for the goose too. Personally, just because the DemocRATS are criminal enough to ignore Obama’s past, I’m not for Republicans, Independents, Conservatives or Tea Party doing the same thing. TWO wrongs don’t make a right–I’d prefer Congress, under a Republican president AND a GOP controlled Congress–pass declaratory legislation to once and for all set the definition–which I believe “Natural born” to mean born of CITIZEN PARENTS on U.S. soil. We have 315 MILLION citizens, I know we can find plenty that have citizen parents and meet that requirement, I’m not for watering it down for ANYBODY. P.S.–I opposed any GOP attempts to qualify Arnold Schwarzennggar too. That document (the U.S. Constitution) is too precious and important to just screw around with for sake of a political party or candidate, NO MATTER WHO IT IS.

          • shavager

That does NOT make him a NATURAL BORN citizen–it makes him a NATIVE born or native of the U.S. by his mother’s citizenship. ANYBODY born on U.S. soil is a NATIVE born citizen–IF the Founding Fathers were satisfied with JUST “citizenship” as the requirement, WHY did they SPECIFICALLY require a “NATURAL BORN” eligibility for ONLY the President and Vice President? Because they wanted candidates WITH TWO CITIZEN PARENTS, that meant two citizens of this country–and NO allegiance to any other country by a different citizenship of one.

          • sweetsuzee

It doesn’t matter what the Founding Fathers originally said since they gave specific power to Congress to change that specific law which they have done. The Founding Fathers never defined natural born.
The law is the law and that is all there is to it.

Congress asked their research service to prepare a report on this very issue. A 2011 “Congressional Research Service” report stated that the weight of legal and historical authority indicates that the term “natural born” citizen would mean a person who is entitled to U.S. citizenship “by birth” or “at birth,” either by being born “in” the United States and under its jurisdiction, even those born to alien parents; by being born abroad to U.S. citizen-parents; or by being born in other situations meeting legal requirements for U.S. citizenship “at birth.” Such term, however, would not include a person who was not a U.S. citizen by birth or at birth, and who was thus born an “alien” required to go through the legal process of “naturalization” to become a U.S. citizen.

In other words, if you don’t have to become “naturalized” you are automatically a “natural born” citizen. Since citizenship “at birth” is the qualifier, please go back and read the title of 8 U.S. Code § 1401.

          • shavager

The FOUNDING Fathers did NOT give Congress the authority to CHANGE anything in the Constitution dearie–YOU better read up—ONLY WE THE PEOPLE CAN AMEND THE CONSTITUTION and it takes 33 STATES voting FOR an Amendment to change the Constitution. The issue has NEVER been before the Supreme Court although Chief Justice Morris Waite said in his majority decision, Minor v Happersett voting rights case: “all children born in a country of PARENTS who were its CITIZENS became themselves, upon their birth, citzens also. These were native or NATURAL BORN citizens.” and there is numerous information written by the Founding Fathers to DEFINE what they meant–and for YOUR information–Congress has TRIED some 7-8 times in past twenty years to CHANGE that designation and have FAILED: 1975–House DemocRAT Jonathan Bingham proposed a Constitutional Amendment H.R. 33 to REMOVE “natural born” for president from Article II–he failed and reintroduced it again in 1977 as HJR 38. In 2003, DemocRATS again tried 8 TIMES in 22 months to eliminate “natural born” to change requirement to ANY person who has been in U.S. 35 years and been a RESIDENT for 14 YEARS to be eligible. Again in 2003 John Conyers tried to change it to ANY person who has been a citizen for 20 YEARS to become eligible. In 2004, Rep Don Nickles attempted to pass S 2128–Natural BORN Citizen Act—TO STOP DemocRAT efforts to CHANGE the requirement. In Sept, 2004, Rep Dana Rohrabacher–California Republican wanted to change it so Arnold Schwarzenegger could later run for president–NON-native persons would qualify if they’ve held U.S. citizenship for at least 20 YEARS. In 2005, Rohrabacher again tried to pass it. In 2005 Rep Vic Snyder also tried to change it for anybody whose been a citizen for 35 years and resident for 14 years. In 2008 with a presidential election looming, Sen Clair McCaskill tried to attach an amendment alteration to a military bill, S2678–to include any person born to any U.S. citizen serving in the active or reserve components of the U.S. armed forces. From June 2003 to Feb 2008, EIGHT attempts were made to change “natural born” in the Constitution and ALL failing–ALL taking place as Obama was being prepared to run for Senate and then president in 2008.

          • sweetsuzee

Perhaps you should read Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution which clearly outlines many, many Constitutional powers that Congress has that whereby they can make all sorts of changes without asking us for permission. CITIZENSHIP happens to be one of them as it clearly says that they have the right and the power “To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization”. You cannot change “naturalization” laws without affecting “citizen by birth” laws since they go hand in hand. Also, I never said anything about Congress AMENDING anything, just allowed to make changes as dictated by Article 1. Go back and read the law AS CURRENTLY WRITTEN and digest it, please. You’re becoming a nuisance !!

          • shavager

NATURALIZED citizenship CAN BE TAKEN BACK BY THE GOVERNMENT–since “government” issued that privilege. It is CLEAR among the beliefs of the Founding Fathers and the framework they used for THEIR requirement of “natural born” that THEY referred to CITIZENS BORN TO TWO CITIZEN PARENTS. Congress didn’t allow women to vote at one time, they didn’t allow blacks to vote at one time–that DOES NOT MEAN CONGRESS WAS RIGHT! UNTIL the Supreme Court actually DEFINES what “natural born” means, Justice Waite’s declaratory statement within Minor v Happersett SHOULD be accepted by Courts in this country UNTIL a sitting Supreme Court OVERRULES it. Most of what you quoted ONLY concerns “citizens”–and NOT “natural born citizens”–it is ABSOLUTELY obvious the Founding Fathers did NOT consider someone born of foreign parents–PLURAL, meaning the overriding concern was that BOTH parents BE CITIZENS of the U.S…it is born out by Vatel’s description of “Natural Born” as BORN OF CITIZEN PARENTS–just as John Jay inferred to George Washington and “natural born” was included in the U.S. Constitution. It is only COMMON sense that they intended “natural born” within the president, vice president eligibility to mean “of CITIZEN PARENTS” or otherwise they would’ve just required “citizen”.

          • shavager

P.S.–In July 25, 1787 John Jay wrote to the President of the Constitutional Convention, George Washington: “Permit me to hint whether it would be wise and reasonable to provide a strong CHECK to the admission of FOREIGNERS into the administration of our national government and to declare expressly that the Commander in Chief of the American Army SHALL NOT be given to devolve on ANY BUT A NATURAL BORN CITIZEN.” —“born” is underlined in Jay’s letter signifying the importance of allegiance FROM BIRTH. On September 2, 1787, Washington replied with the last line: “I thank you for the hints contained in your letter.” SIX weeks AFTER Jay’s letter to Washington and 2 days AFTER Washington’s reply–the “NATURAL BORN CITIZEN” requirement is put into their Convention drafts.

I could see where you might think Ted Cruz isn’t eligible, but he is according to all the statutes that have been explained to me, and from what several officials have said on T.V., but we shall see right, the left will try and have a field day with it…

I agree, but thats what they say, I always thought it had to be a person born in this country to two American citizens, but what do we know we only had to take that same oath as they all do, and if it turns out he is eligible by the constraints of the Constitution then I will accept that,,

          • monacall

two American born parents.. and that person being born on American soil…. our founding fathers were so smart, the two highest offices held they wanted those people to be natural born citizens…. because of the allegiance issue… which we all know that’s an issue with our current president now…..obozo hates America… mainly because he was never born in this country and his father is a Muslim…. which we know all Muslims hate America…. for something.
            Your thinking straight… Sir….

          • sweetsuzee

Obama doesn’t hate this country because of where he was born. He was raised by card carrying communists !!! That is a well known fact as his grandparents, who raised him for the most part, were registered members of the American Communist Party.

John McCain wasn’t born in this country although he was born in what was then one of our possessions. The law clearly says just ONE parent has to be a citizen if you are born on foreign soil. I’ve inserted it below.

          • jillocity

thank you…i knew McCain was born in Panama, also knew he was eligible

          • shavager

McCain was born on U.S. Territory in Panama–that military base was U.S. territory BEFORE we gave the Panama Canal BACK to Panama under Jimmy Carter. And BOTH McCain’s parents were American citizens. Cruz mother was an American, his father was a Cuban citizen. Federal law at one time did NOT allow a child to achieve citizenship from his mother unless she was 18 YEARS or older and a RESIDENT in the U.S. for FIVE CONSECUTIVE YEARS. I’m not sure if Cruz meets this criteria but his FATHER was NOT an American at the time of his birth–at the time of that requirement, it means he does NOT meet actual “natural born” requirements that the Founders demanded.

          • sweetsuzee

Sorry but you are very, very wrong. The laws of this country clearly dictate that he was, in fact, a citizen at the time of his birth –

The only difference is that prior to 11-14-86 the citizen parent had to have lived her for 10 years prior to living elsewhere. His mother did !!!

          • shavager

That makes them a CITIZEN but NOT a “Natural BORN” citizen which required TWO CITIZEN PARENTS. Too many people mistake CITIZENSHIP gained by one parent or born on American soil as “NATURAL born”–but these people are CITIZENS under those statutes but NOT “natural born” as required with TWO CITIZEN parents.

          • sweetsuzee

Please find me something, anything, anywhere in our laws that say anything other than what I’ve already presented which clearly says that it only needs ot be ONE American parent and one alien as long as certain criteria are met. Also, please find me any definition anywhere in the Consittution that defines what a “natural born citizen” is outside of what our Congress has said.

          • shavager

Chief Justice Morris Waite, in Minor v Happersett voting rights case–Virginia Minor SUED Missouri and St. Louis county registrar Reese Happersett for the RIGHT to vote–she LOST because the Supreme Court could NOT give her rights that Congress had NOT passed into law. Chief Justice Waite’s MAJORITY opinion declared “NEW citizens may be born or they may be CREATED by naturalization” and that the Constitution “does not, in words, say WHO shall be natural born citizens”. Under Common Law, ACCORDING TO THE COURT: “it was NEVER DOUBTED that ALL CHILDREN BORN IN A COUNTRY OF PARENTS WHO WERE ITS CITIZENS, BECAME THEMSELVES, UPON THEIR BIRTH, CITIZENS ALSO. THESE WERE NATIVE OR NATURAL BORN CITIZENS, as distinguished from aliens or foreigners.” Note that he quoted COMMON LAW–based on laws adopted from English Common Law and also Emerich de Vatel’s “Law of Nations” book which the Constitutional Convention frequently referred to as a framework in structuring the U.S. Constitution and which Benjamin Franklin said of Vatel’s book, presented to him by publisher Charles Dumas: I am very much obliged by the kind present you have made of your edition of Vattel. It came to us in good season, when circumstances of rising state make it necessary to frequently consult the Law of Nations…it has been continually in the hands or the members of our Congress, now sitting, who are very much pleased with your notes and preface, and have entertained a high and just esteem for their author.” ‘STARE desisis’ is a legal principle by which judges are obliged to respect “precedents” established by prior decisions. In legal context it means COURTS should generally abid by ‘precedents’ and NOT disturb settled matters. First is the rule that a decision made by a SUPERIOR court is “binding precedent” which an inferior or lower court can’t change. Second is that a court should NOT overturn its own precedents UNLESS there is a strong reason to do so. In federal court systems, STATE courts are not considered inferior but a parallel court system. STATE courts MUST follow decisions of the U.S. Supreme Court on issues of federal law. Under RULE of ‘STARE Decisis’, ONLY A SITTING U.S. Supreme Court can OVERRIDE or OVERRULE a Supreme Court decision or ruling. Since Justice Waite’s declaration that “native or NATURAL born” citizens required PARENTS–PLURAL, not ONE parent–TWO CITIZEN PARENTS–there has NEVER been a change made by a SITTING Supreme Court. Despite what any federal courts may rule–unless a Supreme Court makes a declaratory statement as to “native, NATURAL born”, Chief Justice’s Waite’s majority decision sets a ‘precedent’ since there are NO other rulings issued that included that specific definition.

          • sweetsuzee

For starters, Minor vs Happersett was not a “citizenship” case as it was a suffrage case as wo whether women can vote. Regardless, I find it amazing that you take things so out of context to try and make your point even though I believe you know the truth. That very same Chief Justice in the very same case also said, Under the power to adopt a uniform system of naturalization, Congress, as early as 1790, provided “that any alien, being a free white person,” might be admitted as a citizen of the United States, and that the children of such persons so naturalized, dwelling within the United States, being under twenty-one years of age at the time of such naturalization, should also be considered citizens of the United States, and that the children of citizens of the United States that might be born beyond the sea, or out of the limits of the United States, should be considered as natural-born citizens. These provisions thus enacted have in substance been retained in all the naturalization laws adopted since. In 1855, however, the last provision was somewhat extended, and all persons theretofore born or thereafter to be born out of the limits of the jurisdiction of the United States, whose fathers were or should be at the time of their birth citizens of the United States were declared to be citizens also.”

Subsequent to the 1855 Congressional change they last reference, Congress changed it again to read EITHER parent rather than just the father. I am sorry that you are having such difficulty understanding that no one but CONGRESS can define what constitutes a natural born citizen because that is what the constitution dictates as acknowledged by Chief Justice Waite. Therefore, pursuant to 8 U.S. Code § 1401, Ted Cruz is eligible to run for the office of President of the United States of America.

          • plum82

Where do people think obummer was born? I bet KENYA……..those assholes that wanted to put him in place for pres. of the USA are sly, sneaky, rotten basturds AND have the money to do anything they want to do………AND they did it….

          • Archangel

I LOVE Ted Cruz too, but if Constitutional Conservatives Talk the Talk they must walk the walk too.

IF he is eligible then so be it.

However. Under what I believe (based on research) the Founders intended for Natural Born Citizen (Art 2 Sect 1 C 5) a NBC being of TWO Natural Born US Citizen Parents OR the offspring of TWO naturalized citizens….IF that was their intention, then Cruz would NOT be eligible.

By that definition, the Occupier of the White House is CLEARLY Ineligible by his own admission…no birth certificate necessary (REAL OR Fabricated)..

That’s OK…make Cruz The Secretary of State, Elect Rand Paul as President, Scott Walker as VP or Trey Gowdy as VP
Personally I like Gowdy more because he really knows how to get under the skin of so-called Progressives

Let Obowellmovement go down in History as the biggest FRAUD IN HISTORY and further destroy the credibility of the “Progressive” Turds

            SEMPER FIDELIS 1987-2009

          • David Kledzik

SEMPER FIDELIS to you too MARINE, I agree, just was stating what I have seen on the news channels, because the Constitution must be followed just like you and Monas comments state. I would love Trey Gowdy to be A.G. and take out the trash for good,,
            SEMPER FIDELIS 1983-2004

          • Archangel

Gowdy would indeed be well-suited for AG.

My concern NOW is simply making it to the 2016 elections

          • rusticman

I would sell the barn to see Gowdy debate Killary on National TV!!

          • mojomathman

Fortunately what the people really want to hear about is way outside of Gowdy’s frame of reference. Don’t take any offers on your barn right away LOL.

          • David in MA

            he is not.

          • mojomathman

The Dems will never have to embarrass Ted Cruz… he does a great job of that on his own. If he gets into the primary your own party will eat him alive first. Guaranteed.

          • MARYSWEET

Ted Cruz can handle himself very well and give back whatever the dems throw at him. He’ll be fine.

          • Concerned50

If Obama being born in Kenya is in the White House now, Ted Cruz being
born in Canada could also be our president. There is a big difference
between them, though, Obama hates this country, while Ted Cruz loves it.
Obama ignores the Constitution, even though he took an oath to uphold
the Constitution as well as all other laws. He has failed miserably at
both. Ted Cruz on the other hand, upholds the Constitution and he is a
constant critic of Obama’s lawless actions.

          • raffaelecafagna

I agree with you ; but if we fallow the Law , he does not qualify .
Of course Cruz is better ; zero in the contrary is not .

          • monacall

Really did you read what you wrote…. Cruz loves the constitution….. really!!! If he were to run for president, knowing he isn’t eligible according to our founding fathers, does he really love our constitution or America. He just turned his (so some say) Canadian citizenship back two years ago… after he became a senator…. wouldn’t you think that if he loved our country so much he would have done that in high school or college…. come on… don’t believe everything you see or hear….. and to why hasn’t he stopped obozo, he knows he wasn’t born in this country…. why hasn’t he tried to get him out of office, because its the same rule for Cruz, and he isn’t going to make waves cause he is going to fool the American people with all his sweet talk…..he is not eligible and if he makes to much fuss than he’ll get caught….. Cruz is no better why because he knows exactly what the constitution says and he still wants to do away with it…

          • sweetsuzee

Some people are just too ignorant to understand the facts. Ted Cruz has been here since he was 3 years old. He did not give thought to the fact that he was actually considered a dual citizen and had to physically do something about it until an opponent raised the issue 1.5 yrs ago. His mother had told him that since she never registered him as a Canadian citizen, he wasn’t a Canadian citizen. After contacting the Canadian government and verifying that he had dual citizenship, they sent him the paperwork to complete and submit which he did.

          • monacall

Yes and “you can keep your insurance” to. “and its going to save every family 2500 dollars”.
Like I asked before have you heard of John Gruber?

          • sweetsuzee

For starters, what does any of the nonsense about the ACA have to do with the topic of our discussion? Regardless, John Gruber is a very common name and there are dozens of people with that name. On the other hand, if you are referring to JON Gruber, the M.I.T grad who alleges to be behind the ACA, yes, I’ve heard of him.

          • monacall

Woohoo you are a educated ?? so what’s John/jon gruber’s line he says about us,Americans!!!! or do you have to look that up to!!!

          • sweetsuzee

Who cares what Jon Gruber says? I sure as heck don’t. Yes, I know what he said but it has no bearing on me. By the way, to answer another stupid question you asked, or should I say accusation you made, NO, I have never voted for Obama. I’m still mystified and in shock that he was elected for a second term.

          • monacall

You don’t care because you don’t pay attention….. Gruber said “most American people are STUPID!!!”. That’s how they passed obozocare….they played on the American’s people stupidity to think that you can get something for nothing…. and oh how obozo soaked it for all it was worth…. what I am saying don’t believe everything you hear from these politicians actions speak louder than words… name one action ANY of them have done to stop obozo. Just because they say they “love the constitution” and yet they don’t want to live by what the constitution says….. Really!

          • sweetsuzee

I pay attention. However, as I said, “…it has no bearing on me…” I am an American and I am not stupid. Regardless, as frustrating as it is for us all, Congress’ hands are tied in many regards. John Boehner has filed in court against BHO’s many actions which is about all that JB can do at present. The rest is up to the courts because only they can determine if something is Constitutional or not pursuant to our own Constitution at Article III. At the same time BHO keeps doing insane things even pissing off his own side. It’s a shame they don’t have the balls enough to join together in helping JB override the Keystone veto. All we can do now is pray. If there was a way to impeach a prez for stupidity, it would have been done a long time ago. However, I don’t believe he’s as stupid as some think he is. He’s cunning !! He knows what he is doing and just how far he can go. The type of America that he sees is definitely not what our Founding Fathers would have wanted. He wants the New World Order which basically boils down to everyone being treated equally except the elite. Same pay; same neighborhoods; same doctors; etc. Everything totally contrary to “free enterprise” and “capitalism” which is the backbone that made this the strongest nation in the world. There was a time when we were an independent nation whereby the only things we imported were mangoes, bananas, and coffee. We had the greatest mills of all sorts including cotton mills, steel mills, pulp mills, etc. and wanted for nothing. We made all of our own electronics and even things such as wonderful watches. They are all gone and we have become totally dependent mostly due to the unions. At the same time we have a prez like HBO absolutely refusing to allow us to farm our own oil because of some sick liberal morons who believe that the sky is falling, that fracking and regular drilling are environmental nightmares, and that the tooth fairy really exists. It’s exasperating !!!

          • monacall

Well its ok for you to change the constitution but not Obozo? You want to elect Cruz when he isn’t eligible… it doesn’t matter what infraction you want to do to the constitution its still an infraction…. once you’ve gone down that road its hard to change back…. so please be careful in what you say and do cause your making this country change…. all these people have to do is put on a “friendly face, saying the things you want to hear” and you want to go with them hand in hand….like everyone that was stupid with obozo in 08. so think about what you say and research the hell out of it….. these people are not Americas friends(speaking of politicians) …. if they were we wouldn’t be in this mess in the first place…and remember ACTIONS SPEAK LOUDER THAN WORDS…. name one legislator that has verbally, paper and otherwise tried to stop this president…..NOT ONE HAS…. including Cruz… so what’s that tell you. They all know who he is but none what to call a spade a spade….i do not trust one of these blood suckers…. pay attention to what you see and hear…. and speak up to them… ask them questions… hard questions….i keep asking my legislators why aren’t you impeaching him???? Why aren’t you stopping him????? At least once a week I ask them….. so ask your legislators what ARE YOU DOING TO STOP HIM….. you’ll hear this “we are waiting for 2016”. We will all be dead by then….

          • sweetsuzee

I never changed the Constitution. The constitution granted Congress powers to make certain decisions. What constitutes a “natural born” aka “native born” American is one of those things. I have repeatedly provided you with the content of 8 U.S. Code § 1401 but you obviously do not understand. As far as Congress attempting to stop Obama, they are working as hard as they can. They filibustered. Boehner filed legal actions in court to stop what the GOP believes to be unlawfulness. Seeing that we are talking about Constitutional issues, again, only the courts can make such determinations as clearly stated in the Constitution. You CANNOT impeach for what you believe is a violation of the Constitution. Art. III, Sec. 2. of our Constitution clearly states that ONLY the courts can make those judgments. Therefore, the Senate CANNOT !!! Obama is a sly, shrewd, devious S.O.B. who truly knows the law. He is stretching its limits to the fullest knowing full well that some things will be permanent regardless of the final outcome. He stacked the SCOTUS against us and that’s all there is to it. However, before you go bloviating, learn the law.

          • monacall

I don’t know what constitution you were studying but it wasn’t the US Constitution…. the courts only job is to make sure the rules are followed, they do not make laws, only congress does…. the courts implement them…. learn your history and general law…. unlike what you and others may think our founding fathers were very smart and knew what they were doing when they drafted the constitution…. to say, 35 years of age and a natural born citizen….. why you say or they didn’t mean that, they meant what they said…. nothing more….. they came from countries that were run by tyrants…. by King’s, they didn’t want this country to be one of those…. so they made the qualifications for the highest two positions… vice and president. Natural born meaning two parents being born on American soil and a child being born on American soil… is a natural born citizen…. all other births is a native born or naturalized citizen… not natural…. you do your thing and I will do mine, because I believe mine is what our founding fathers wanted to keep this country a sovereign nation…. and the commander in chief to have allegiance to just ONE COUNTRY AMERICA. Not two countries or three countries for allegiance which is what we have now…..DO YOU WANT THAT AGAIN….. do you want to take that risk… of someone in that commander chief command to be of another citizenship along with being an American (so they say)? I do not….cruz is not eligible neither is Rubio, santorium, or jandel….period…

          • plum82

you got it..he is not stupid and he does want the new world order..,shoot the basturd

          • plum82

well most people must be stupid because they put that fraud in office TWICE……….

          • shavager

YOU apparently don’t understand the difference between NATURAL born or NATIVE born citizen. ANYBODY born on U.S. soil is considered a NATIVE born, or born to ONE citizen parent would be a NATIVE born citizen–U.S. being the ‘native’ country. NATURAL born by indications of the Founding Fathers was TWO CITIZEN PARENTS–parents who had NO allegiance to a foreign country. Even though being born in Canada to an American mother might make Cruz a CITIZEN–it does NOT give him “NATURAL BORN” status. IF just native born was acceptable to the Founders, WHY did they specifically require NATURAL BORN, ONLY for the President and Vice President offices? BECAUSE THEY WANTED CANDIDATES WHO HAD TWO AMERICAN CITIZEN PARENTS AT TIME OF BIRTH.

          • monacall

I believe the “allegiance to America” was the biggest thought behind our founding fathers when it came to the two highest offices in America. “commander in Chief” has to believe in his country. And that’s why they were so adamant about “natural born” citizen….
And look at what we have today…..obozo hates America, he hates our military, so did Clinton but obozo is dismantling the military…. he is a full blown traitor and none our legislators are even trying to stop him….. including Cruz….they are looking at 2016 and that’s it….MAKES ME SICK…

          • mojomathman

Mona obviously has very little to do in her life but look for pointless little tidbits, like needles in a haystack just she can stay on this little Conservative “Hay Ride”

          • monacall

I’m 62 years old and you bet your sweet ass I don’t have ANYTHING ELSE to do but to protect my children and their children and their children….. and then again their children….. that’s what our ancestors did dirt bag… if you and everyone else would look for those needles in the hay stack there wouldn’t be any needles in the hay stack, but you like most keep your stupid little mouth shut and don’t say anything about anything “except ILLEGALS are people to!”. Bull shit..”take from the rich, they have to much” crap… instead of protecting the constitution… you help tear it up…. so you bet your sweet ass I am looking for that fracking needle in the hay stack….. and thank God I am for YOU AND YOURS, so just go back to the corner you came from, unless you want to help otherwise shut the frack up….GOD BLESS AMERICA

          • mojomathman

You’re wasting your time Mona. If you want to protect your children and your children’s children then get your party to cough up funding for education. So far they are the worst supporters of education in the free world. You know why right? Educated people are harder to manipulate. Im sorry you are 62 and you still haven’t learned that.

          • monacall

            And obviously you haven’t either

          • Mojomathman

Snappy response Mona, and funny, I have to hand it to you. Touche’ BUT it still won’t hide the fact that almost nothing the Republican party has proposed in the last 20 years has been sustainable. Almost all of their economic policies have been disasters. We are still digging our way out and so will our children’s children Check your history Mona.

          • monacall

Seriously, your right and wrong…..i say BOTH are to blame the democrats are famous for taking from the rich and giving it to the poor…. but the republicans big problem is they are all cowards…. they got control of the house and senate and STILL WONT DO ANYTHING TO STOP THIS TREASONOUS PERSON…cowards

          • Mojomathman

I’m sorry Mona but the Republican Party committed Treason against the last 2 generations and the next 2 coming up. That’s what has to stop. They purposely dug a hole most Americans will be digging out of for decades to come. That’s what they were paid to do. It wasn’t difficult, most Americans are financially illiterate. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Just keep everyone frightened and don’t let them see what their other hand is doing.

          • monacall

No honey the DEMORATS….have destroy this country…. keeping everyone on welfare on welfare….obozo has managed to make the debt 18 trillion dollars adding ONLY 4.9 trillion in 6 years….. bushes contribution was 4.8 trillion in eight years…. and bush didn’t take vacations during that time frame…. at least not to the tune of what obozo did with his made up family at the tune of over 20 million dollars in vacations…. oh and please tell me why obozos dog has to be flown on another plane when they take this pup any where, tell me why he can’t ride with obozo…..? is it because dogs can’t be around Muslims…. check the facts obozocare is nothing more than wealth redistribution… democrats are good for punishing the working person and taking it from them to give to the VOTERS they need….obviously it worked on you

          • shavager

I’m with ya’ monacall–I’m all FOR the Convention of STATES legislation that’s going around states now–it’s CALLING FOR a Convention of all 50 states–requires at least 34 state legislatures passing it-and I’ve heard estimates that about 25 or so states have passed it. It would call a Convention of state delegates who would offer Amendments to FORCE Congress to change–likely starting with a Balanced Budget Amendment and STOP them from overspending our Revenues–they WON’T pass it themselves ’cause it hurts THEIR HANDS IN OUR POCKETS. Also on agenda would likely be TERM LIMITS–they WON’T limit themselves, it’s TIME for the people to FORCE it on them–get rid of career politicians who are OWNED by lobbyists, special interests and corporations–groups with THEIR HANDS in OUR POCKETS TOO! We need politicians who say what they need to for the next election–with a LIMIT on their time they can serve, they would be more focused on accomplishing something than trying to lie and deceive to get elected again.

          • monacall

I’m afraid that’s not even enough. Convention of states is a great idea with hard working dedicated patriots BUT who the hell can you trust? its been 6 going real fast into 7 years. obozo is about done destroying this country. I doubt this convention is going to be any good in a year and a half. Sorry no confidence in this system anymore.

          • sweetsuzee

Since you are so adamant that there is a difference between “natural born” vs “native born”, please cite just one valid, codified legal definition to support your allegation.

          • David in MA

Both those scenes are exactly what the founders were avoiding.

          • shavager

TWO wrongs don’t make a ‘right’. Why would YOU want to allow an INELIGIBLE person to serve just because THEY DID??

          • mojomathman

Do you honestly still believe that the President was born in Kenya??? Aren’t you afraid of continuing to embarrass the Conservative Republican Party?
I guess not since you think Ted Cruz is even remotely qualified to be the President of the United States. This site continues to embarrass the right. I keep reading it because it the entertainment value outweighs the sad and troubling level of the ridiculous. Buy a clue. No don’t, I take that back. Keep up the good work… LOL I’m loving it.

          • wapitihunter

How do you figure? Ted’s Mother is an US citizen. He is more legal than the current president and will produce a valid birth certificate and a valid SS card. He was born in Canada due to his father’s work. So what’s the gripe?

          • monacall

Cruz’s birth certificate will state he was born in Canada which will make him ineligible to be president or vice president of the United States….t doesn’t make a difference at all if his mother was born here or not…. he WASNT…..and his father was born in Cuba so either way you look at it…. sorry Cruz you can’t be president or vice president, just like Jindel, Rubio, Santorum…can’t be either….
vote for Scott Walker… he seems to have his shot together…

          • wapitihunter

You don’t have to be born in the United States to be eligible to serve as president of the United States as long as one of more of your parents were American citizens at the time of birth, it is commonly held.

So your saying John McCain could not have been President had he been elected. McCain was not born in the U.S.

          • monacall

Did not say that. McCain is eligible because he was born on American soil. The panama canal at that time had an active duty base where McCain was born. An active duty base over seas is the same as being born here. soooo he was eligible.
Again natural and native citizen are so far different.

          • wapitihunter

That is not the US. Not US soil. We don’t own it. Wanna wager on Cruz?

          • monacall

We do as long as we are there. and no i won’t wager on any lying SOB.

          • wapitihunter

Who is lying? Only one’s I know of is demons and you. Cruz is eligible research it.

          • monacall

I have DICK HEAD. You are luke every other dick he’s without a brain I their own. You will sell this country out for a guy that isn’t even a natural born citizen. Any one that hides his name is a coward. And its no wonder you think Cruz is eligible. You and anyone else that thinks Cruz is eligible are sheep and your doing exactly what these traitors want you to do. FOLLOW.

          • jillocity

John McCain was born in Panama, he was eligible…haven’t researched yet, but Cruz may be eligible under similar circumstances

          • shavager

McCain was born in Panama on a U.S. base considered U.S. Territory at the time before Jimmy Carter gave the Panama Canal back to Panama. BOTH of McCain’s parents WERE CITIZENS of the U.S..

          • monacall

John McCain was born on an active duty base where his parents were stationed…. it is considered American soil….. so is an embassy…. there are no active duty bases in Canada and Cruz was not born in an embassy…..

        • Daniel from TN

Cruz is not eligible. He is not a natural born citizen. But he would make a good president if he was eligible.

          • sweetsuzee

What part of the law do you not understand? He’s as natural born as I am and I was born to 2 Americans in NY.

          • monacall

Your one of those educated idiots that ill bet anything voted for obozo the first time didn’t you. Did you look up John Gruber.

          • shavager

National or native is NOT “natural born”. ANYBODY born on U.S. soil is a CITIZEN–a national or native citizen. NATURAL BORN required TWO CITIZEN PARENTS with NO foreign allegiance. IF national or native was only requirement, then the Founding Fathers would NOT have SPECIFICALLY required “natural born”–BORN OF TWO CITIZEN PARENTS. They required it ONLY of the President and Vice President.

        • David in MA

your list just got shorter, Cruz is not Constitutionally eligible, neither is Rubio or Jindal.

        • D Eiland

Yes, Trey Gowdy, Ted Cruz and the Walker guy from Wisconsin are on my list. However, I have concerns about Ted’s eligibility. I believe he was born in Canada and only one of his parents was an American at the time. Clearly, Obama has jaded me about 1st Gens being eligible for presidency. Also, Obama was a junior senator for only one term so there was limited exposure to his voting record.

          • SimplyZen

I’ve deliberately not responded to others on this thread regarding Ted’s eligibility. (If you poke around, there’s much lively debate about this matter. I stayed out of it. While much of it is heartfelt among those that believe he’s ineligible, I didn’t want to repeat myself over and over.)

This is a good site explaining this criteria:
            http://legalinsurrection.com/2013/09/natural-born-citizens-marco-rubio-bobby-jindal-ted-cruz/

Bottom line – this has already been addressed in several legal decisions over a number of decades.

Moreover, Ted’s a well-renowned Constitutional scholar that’s clerked for William Rhenquist and has litigated > 40+ times before the Supreme Court. He’s also served as the AG for the State of Texas. (Phenomenal resume to say the least – and he’s only in his mid-40s.)

Anyway, I’m quite sure if there was a doubt (to Ted) about his eligibility to run for the POTUS, that would’ve already been settled long before he even thought about it. I’m quite sure he would know.

          • D Eiland

Unfortunately, I don’t have time to read the entire link that you provided; however, after about 1/4th I agree that Cruz is eligible to be President. I certainly agree that Cruz has demonstrated other fine qualities and has a resume that few in Washington DC have attained at any age.
Finally, thank you for the facts and well researched link.

          • SimplyZen

            Np. You take care.

        • mojomathman

Ted Cruz is an idiot… you know that right?? The Dems would LOVE to have Ted Cruz as an opponent in 2016. Be careful what you ask for… you might just get it and then the country is NEVER going to listen to anything your party has to say again in your lifetime.

          • SimplyZen

You have absolutely NO idea what you’re talking about wrt Ted Cruz to make dumb, nonsensical conjectures like that.

I have no idea where to begin to take that assertion apart, so I’m not going to even bother.

            P*ss off, Troll.

          • mojomathman

Im sure you don’t have any ideas on a lot of things. Just like Teddy Boy.

        • plum82

          ME TOO……….

      • MARYSWEET

I have had that list several times too but I’ve been voting for Scott Walker because he has the same attributes. He is aggressive and not afraid to confront obama and look what a Republican Governor has done for a blue state. That is amazing and just what we need. I really do like Trey Gowdy though. Before I saw him in Congress I had seen him on one of those crime shows on TV where he was the prosecuting attorney and I was very impressed with him then. If he ran for President I would certainly vote for him.

        • Patty

          So would I.

        • Damon

Scott is who I want for President, Trey for Us Attorney General’s Office and Ted Cruz for Vice President–Allen West for Secretary of Defense.—talk about a Force–Rick Perry for Secretary of State.

          • MARYSWEET

THAT SOUNDS LIKE A WINNING TICKET TO ME AND I’LL VOTE FOR IT. WE WOULD HAVE A GREAT CHANCE TO GET OUR COUNTRY BACK.

          • mojomathman

You already sold your country to a small group of people that could care less about anything you think is important. As soon as you told them what you cared about…. they had you. This “Ticket” you talk about was bought and paid for by the people that took your country away already. Either lose these clowns on your “ticket” or you will have to “buy” back your country. And you can’t afford it. They know that….That’s their strategy. You know that right????

          • MARYSWEET

I never sold my country to any one. The politicians in DC have done that, especially the dems in the last two elections. They have several billionaires backing obama and FIXED the election so he couldn’t lose. I would love to “lose” the clowns as you say but I don’t vote in all 50 states, just the one I live in and I only vote once which is not what happened last time. I play by the rules and the politicians don’t. That’s how we got in this mess.

          • Eagleonem

Damon, I could go along with that ticket, for sure.
Almost sounds too good to be true though.
But that’s a Dream Team in my view.
            Let’s make it happen GOP.

          • mojomathman

Friggin’ Hilarious!!!!! Dream Team??? Yeah you are dreamin’ alright. LOLOLOL

          • David Kledzik

And you as campaign manager, cause that my friend is a blockbuster combination of kickass candidates, you as campaign manager cause you nailed it, right on!!!!!

Replace Perry with Dr. Carson and we got it made ; Perry is a double tongued viper , ki## a## to illegals .

          • Deepthink

…and Ben Carson for Health & Human Services (HHS)

          • Daniel from TN

I believe Carson would make an excellent Surgeon General.

          • Damon

Agreed 100%–very excellent choice-extremely good man

          • Pogo

And Ben Carson for head of Health and Human Services or at least Surgeon General.

          • Patriot1001

And find a post for Ben Carson

          • Daniel from TN

Cruz cannot be VP either. The vice-president must also be a natural born citizen.

          • Damon

            Why not?——Obama did!!!!! LOL

Great picks. I could support that any day.

          • mojomathman

This is the age of information “Sweetie” how do think this ticket could survive once all the “real” information on them is exposed to the public. Walker is the only one who can “smarm” his way above the pack. But once the public gets a whiff of what he REALLY smells like and who is buying his campaign the whole ticket loses…. again. Hilarious.

          • Bird

Hell Yeah! That’s what you call THE TICKET. It’s what I’ve been saying all along

          • mojomathman

Well “Bird Brain” I hope you get your wish. The comedy value alone is priceless.

          • SILVER TRAVELER

Damon, you sure put together a real “Dream Team” for the Republican Party! I love it and totally endorse it!
I think we do need to find a prominent place in the next Administration for Dr. Ben Carson also! He could take on the ominous challenge of repairing our “very sick” racial relations that Obama has created by dividing the blacks and whites in the past 6 years!

          • mojomathman

I’m sorry Damon, I am laughing too hard to type a response. None of these people are qualified to hold any of these positions. You realize that right?

        • Eagleonem

My vote, as a Texan who witnessed what he has done for Texas is still fior Rick Perry, balancing a disastrous budget, creating thousands of jobs and closing the border so nobody can get in illegally anymore. I don’t doubt Walker would do the same or nearly the same but he never had to deal with illegals sneaking across the border. Perry witnessed it on a daily basis and put a stop to it by engaging the National Guard. Only a governor from a border state fully understands the threat and the consequences first hand.

          • MARYSWEET

I am also a Texan and if Rick Perry were on the ballot, I would most certainly vote for him. He was a great governor and did a lot for Texas and especially regarding the illegal immigrants.

          • raffaelecafagna

yes he did a lot for Texas and especially regarding the illegal immigrants. He gave Illegals Free Education and Welfare , all paid by stupid taxpayers ; you are Uninformed .

          • MARYSWEET

Perry didn’t give the illegals all the free benefits. That was obama. Maybe you didn’t hear that Perry sent 500 DPS agents as well as National Guard to the border to help control it. Yeah, we are paying for all the illegals and most people don;t like it including me but I am not uninformed. You better check your facts. Obama hates Perry because he stood up to him.
By law the National Guard is limited as to what they can do. I don’t believe most of what I read and only half of what I see but I do feel Perry did what he could given the situation.

          • raffaelecafagna

Texas Sanctuary City or Cities ; I got lost in Dallas and guess who gave me directions ???? 4 illegals that could not speak a word of my Language , I had to speak their language to get out of there . In Dallas and Ft. Worth , Mexican car dealers : no S.S.# required ; no D.L. required , to purchase a vehicle ( of course you don`t know that ) I was at the Capitol in Austin ,2 years ago , protesting illegal immigration ; they came from every corners and about to run us into the dirt , if it wasn`t for the Capitol Police . What about E-Verify ???? it`s been there for ever and no one, Perry Included , ever done anything about it ; I spoke with a Representative , face to face , at the Capitol about E-Verify ; his answer was : We can`t Enforce it because we don`t have the Man Power ; what a retarded imbecile , doesn`t know E-Verify . Last Friday Feb. 20 , I was at the Capitol in Austin for Texas Freedom Day , but I did not see you there . Show your face in Brownsville and see for yourself , before speaking .
            God Bless Always.

          • MARYSWEET

You are right – Dallas and Austin were both big on being sanctuary cities. I don’t believe San Antonio is although we do have a lot of traffic going through here. I really believe that E-Veify is just an excuse because if they had used it for obama he never would have made it to the WH. I don’t think they even use it and being short handed is not an excuse because they have so many people wandering around. Maybe if they all did their job instead of socializing so much they would get done what they were hired to do.

          • raffaelecafagna

Please check this one , thanks .

Illegal alien support groups have recently been broadly labeling illegals as “immigrants” to make the public more supportive of illegal immigration, and last year the U.N. even went as far as to call illegals “refugees.”

“Representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, or UNHRC, are ‘intensely discussing in meetings’ the possibility of extending U.N. protection to the thousands of Central Americans crossing the U.S. border with Mexico illegally by defining them as ‘refugees’ who are seeking asylum from political and domestic violence in their home nations,” Jerome Corsi reported for World Net Daily.

The IRS is even giving illegals tax refunds – even though they didn’t pay taxes.

“Mr. Obama’s new deportation policies, which carve most illegal immigrants out of danger of being removed, and could proactively grant as many as four million illegal immigrants work permits and Social Security numbers, are increasingly under fire for ancillary consequences such as tax credits and competition for jobs,” Stephen Dinan with the Washington Times reported.

So far in Texas alone, over 20,000 illegals have crossed the border since Jan. 1.

Adan Salazar also contributed to this report.

I totally agree with you. He would make sure the border got closed and secured.

          • mojomathman

I have to agree with you and Damon on this one. He IS qualified for that job. Until it comes to securing our country from smarter and more well financed invaders than poor dehydrated Mexican Families and Children. • raffaelecafagna

I don`t know about Perry closing the borders ; who gave you that information ???? Perry sent 1000 National Guards to the border at a cost of $ 2 Million x Month , paid by taxpayers ; the N.G. are doing nothing only ” Observing ” . I was there and seen it , last October . There is a group of ” Volunteer “there , doing a much better job on stopping illegals from crossing . Do Not Believe all you read ; see for yourself ; Brownsville Texas .

          • mojomathman

Do you know how happy the left is going to be if Rick Perry wins the nomination??? That’s the problem with this ridiculous party, all this barking boo hoo when none of their ideas will actually work. I’m so glad to be an independent in this day and age. Its like getting to watch the best comedy show of all time every day for free. Rick Perry has had NOTHING to do with the success you have had in your state. AND He has actually personally made money from the border crisis. Do your homework. Follow the money, do some REAL research. He is also an embarrassment to the rest of us of faith. He’s what we call a “Fair Weather” Christian. (Sorry Rick, your a nice guy but you don’t have a clue) He is a store bought “device” for your parties primary debates. You know that right??? You realize your State is Purple right now and turning blue in the next 8 years. Right??? Does that worry you?? I wonder why… I mean really. Are you worried about illegals taking the jobs of your children because your “Governor” has one of the worst education records in the country and is leaving YOUR KIDS so ill-educated that they can only hold the jobs you give to illegals, tax free…. But Rick you totally crack me up soooo Go Rick Go!!!

      • Eagleonem

Cinti, I would rather see Gowdy as Attorney General in a Rick Perry administration. Be sure the border would be sealed from day one and those here illegally would be dealt with according to the laws on the books. He would be perfect to lead the DOJ, now still known as the Department Of Jokes.

      • conservative since 1962

Yes, Trey Gowdy would make a good President. Trey Gowdy would be a GREAT Attorney General in the administration of a good Constitution following President!

      • Bird

We need TG for Attorney General

    • MARYSWEET

I think Trey Gowdy would be a good President but his expertise is more of being a prosecuting attorney and would make an excellent Attorney General. We would be able to trust him. I think Scott Walker, Bobby Jindal or Ted Cruz would be better to run for President. They are the new blood in Congress and they are Tea Party conservatives.

    • MegaMouseGW

I am in total agreement with you and Trey Gowdy. Time to send the TERRORIST in office to jail for ALL the ILLEGAL actions he has taken.

    • josephaettore

Amen. I would support and vote for him.

    • 7papa7

This is exactly why I would love to see him at 1600 Pennsylvania Ave. He is Reganesque and we would then be on the track to having our friends once again trust us and our enemies fear us.

    • Evan

I agree with what you said!

    • Debra

I would also like for him to be president but wouldn’t he be able to do more good in another position? Because presidents don’t make or change our laws. What position would be the most powerful one to get things done in and prevent bad things from passing, etc? He needs to stay or get where he can do the best for ”we the people”” and prevent those crooks from changing or making laws against us. If as president he can stop them from making bad changes—–then he needs to run for president—-he would be great for our country and he would straighten out these messes we’re in. Haven’t seen his hat thrown in the ring yet and if he doesn’t, i would like to know who he thinks is best. Who ever he’s backing is most like him.

    • Sarah417

Ya think? It’s all a horse and pony show for the American people. Republicans and Democrats are one in the same all jockeying for position at the top stealing and socking away the taxpayer’s money for the day it all comes crashing down. These people sold you out. For what? Wealth and power. One day you’ll wake up.

  • The signs of the end times are everywhere.

As we witness such things as the spread of globalism, the building of a one-world church, the increase of wickedness, the breakdown of the traditional family, the destruction of that priceless bastion of liberty called America, the normalization of homosexuality, the callous murder of babies, the filthy pop culture, the breathtaking increase in governmental surveillance, we become fearful, uncertain, frustrated, angry, and discouraged, but this is because our minds and hearts are too focused on things of this world rather than things above. Too often we have the same short view that “conservative” unbelievers have rather than the long view that comes from the light of Bible prophecy…

The devil is the god of this world, and his handiwork is evident everywhere, but he is not God and he is not in control of the times and the seasons.

“Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding” (Dan. 2:20-21).

We should stand in the confidence that the present evil is exceedingly temporary and will soon be cut down.

We honor you Congressman Gowdy. You are good and honest and we know that this Benghazi fiasco will be finally be over and the bad guys will have to pay. Thank you for all you do. Impeach obama. He is evil and tryng to destroy our country.

    • mabera19

http://www.wnd.com/2011/07/321969/ Why obama can not be impeached.

    • A natural born American

Recently, I was listening to an interview Trey Gowdy was giving. When he was asked why he hasn’t pushed for obama’s impeachment his reply was something like this: “Have you looked at joe biden lately?!” I was laughing so hard I didn’t exactly catch his entire response. BUT he did remind me that if we impeach obama, then joe biden is next in line for the presidency. If I remember my US History right, then after him came john boehner (at the time of the interview).

      • SimplyZen

I’d take Crazy “Uncle” Joe over this red-diaper baby Marxist anyday of the week (and twice on Sunday).

  • Jon Exner

Our country is at a turning point.
    *
Either the Congress jointly, both chambers and both parties join together to reaffirm their rightful, lawful duties of legislation and representation of the American people and prevent this and future Presidents from over stepping their authority as described by the Constitution of the United States of America or we turn into a dictatorship where the Congress is nothing more than the rubber stamp for the dictator in chief now and in the future.
    *
Either the Courts reclaim their integrity and begin to decide cases based on the language and the meaning of that language in the Constitution of the United States of America or we become just another banana republic.
    *
Last night I watched in amassment when a clip was shown of justice ruth bader ginsberg where she stated that Congress is not working very well at the present. It is not her job to decide if Congress is working very well or not her job is to do one thing and one thing only. Decide whether bills passed by Congress and signed into law by a President of the United States of America are Constitutional based on the language of the Constitution of the United States of America and to reject all other arguments to the contrary.
    *
We need more members of Congress to be like Trey Gowdy and less like mcconnell, reid and other pretenders who are elected to represent the American citizens but in reality represent themselves and anyone who will grease their palms for their votes.

    • Frank W Brown

      Can you say TERM LIMITS???

      • Jon Exner

People like you make me laugh if it were not so dumb.
        *
Can you see what president obama is doing knowing that he does not have to face another election. Just imagine the damage that can be done if you had 450+ members of the House of Representatives and 100 Senators who could not run for re-election?
        *
What is surprising is it took this long for someone to come along and understand that term limits and Executive Orders are a bonus for the President of the United States of America.
        *
They would make what obama is doing look like a Sunday afternoon picnic.
        *
The donor class (that’s the new description of the puppet masters) who pay for the campaigns of the politicians would put their puppets in every election cycle. The people would lose total control over any decisions in the house.

        • Frank W Brown

I think you’re full of it! There is NO other way to take the career OUT of the politician, it’s the only way!

          • Jon Exner

Well, we agree on one thing, that is that we disagree on term limits.
            *
If you can read my post and not understand that term limits will create politicians who are controlled by the nomination process and not the re-election process then you are short sited.

        • SimplyZen

That pre-supposes that you’d have a number of DC politicians that would be as scrupulous as Trey Gowdy (et al). The bulk majority of them are not, sad to say. Over time, donors and big money corrupt the Freshmen into simply representing their interests instead of We the People.

Congress was never intended to be a “career”.

Nowadays, the incumbents have HUGE advantages over challengers in their respective districts. (This is not an accident.) The election laws were specifically set up that way.

The only answer is regular turnover. Heck, the old Soviet Politburo had more turnover than our present day Congress.

          • Jon Exner

Who decides who is wins during the nomination process, the people who vote or the people who donate big$$$$ to the candidates. Very few good candidates who have no money will get nominated. The donor class decides to gets nominated. You and I the voters get to pick which of the candidates backed by different members of the donor class gets elected.
            *
The answer is not term limits it is how and who can donate money during the election process.
            *
And you actually have it backwards. You presuppose that there are many people out there like Trey Gowdy just waiting to get elected. and can actually get elected. Just think with your term limits Trey Gowdy is history in less than two years, I believe this is his second term. Think there is someone out there that will pick up were he leaves off?

          • Jon Exner

You say that Congress was never intended to be a “career”, just how do you know that?
            *
Were in the Constitution did the Founding Fathers decide that term limits was the way to go?
            *
The reason they did things the way they did them back then had little to do with the political make up of our government but rather the fact that most of them were farmers and had to be back home performing their duties as farmers.
            *
Big difference between the world of 1776 and 2014.

          • SimplyZen

“Were in the Constitution did the Founding Fathers decide that term limits was the way to go?”

Prior to, say, the early 1900s, very few members of Congress would even think about staying beyond a couple of terms. They would return to Civilian life after their service was up. It was more of a silent, gentleman’s agreement.

Then came the likes of FDR.

Regardless, let’s just agree to disagree on this one.

          • Jon Exner

You live in la la land this is not 1776, nor 1876.
            *
And speaking of FDR whether you agree with his philosophy or not, the people voted for him, just who the hell are you to say that YOU have the right to deny me or any other American citizens to vote for the person I believe would make the best President, Representative or Senator?
            *
What you propose is to limit peoples vote not expand it. If a candidate can not string two coherent sentences together to convince the voter to vote for them rather than the incumbent then are you sure you want to have that person get into office for no other reason than term limits.

          • SimplyZen

You’re taking this too personally. I simply don’t believe that yours is the answer. It has nothing to do with any misguided notion of my trying to deny you of anything. We’re just having a civil disagreement.

Again, let’s agree to disagree and move on, shall we ?

          • Jon Exner

I am not taking this personal, I am merely pointing out the end result of your and others who want to impose term limits.
            *
The end result of term limits is people that is all people will be restricted from voting for people running for office because of term limits.
            *
There are two major problems that we have with our governance system.
            *
            1. money; as I indicated the donor class as they are now referred to have to much influence as to who get nominated.
            *
            2. the low information voters who only pay attention to what is going on just before any election. And lets not forget about the voter who believes that this person or that person is really, really cute and oh would I like to have a beer with him so I’ll vote for him.
            *
Those are bigger problems than term limits.
            *
So now I will move on.

          • James H. Humphrey

This comment conversation is great, I have enjoyed all the comments and think that they have some very interesting thoughts from some different viewpoints. I have for some time had some positive thoughts concerning term limits and a few negative ones also. I like the idea of being able to vote on whom I like but I also like the thought of someone that I think is doing a dis-service to being retired after a couple of terms. And that appears to be the contention point. For a moment look at what is happening – we have a president and certain persons in congress who like the idea of giving illegals citzenship with the ability to vote. That block of voters will repay with respect for this gift and the continuing perks. We have an administration that is working overtime to wreck this constitution and nation. I think there must be more positive thinking and problem solving than a disagreement, sort of like a compromise with all of us winning. Now you ask, ok what is the solution. I wish I had the answer, this is more complicated than I can solve, if I were in a position to assist, I’m not. I just wanted to butt in and say continue to agree to disagree, show respect and I believe something could be worked out – getting it implemented might just be a bigger problem. You are nuts if you think you can’t take the CAREER out of the politician, their careers are what is destroying this nation, why give them UNLIMITED CAREERS?

          • Jon Exner

Hey frankie, I never posted anything about wanting to take the CAREER OUT OF POLITICIAN, you and others have stated that, not me.
            *
What is destroying this country is people who vote for a candidate because the candidate is attractive, the candidate is someone I would like to have a beer with, etc., etc.
            *
Far too many voters understand what the candidate stands for, after all todays candidates are asked such tough questions like BOXERS or BRIEFS. Politics have become a joke especially to the youth who asked that stupid question, of course we all suspect the question was planted but that started the ball rolling for future elections.
            *
Money donated by the donor class is what the problem is, not career politicians.
            *
Term limits would only increase the number of people on the dole owing the donor class their allegiance to what ever the donor class wanted since the politicians would not have to worry what the American voters say since they will not be up for election again. That is what is happening right now with president obama, he said it himself in the 2014 election. “I am not on the ballot but my agenda is” when the democrats lost the Senate he went to work doing whatever he wanted to do. Just think if the majority of Congress was term limited out, they would all say to hell with what the voters want my beliefs come first.

      • keath

The founders never even dreamed that a citizen would come to D.C. and want to make a career out of politics —but they had no idea of the amount of money the future would bring to cowardly pols. who care nothing about service and integrity. Term limits is the only thing that might save the republic.

        • Jon Exner

If the Founding Fathers wanted term limits they would have put them in the Constitution of the United States of America.
          *
This is 2014 not 1776 if we had a part time government with people who knew little of what needs to be know on a regular basis then we would not be the great nation we are.
          *
The solution is not term limits, the solution is for people to get more involved and educated on the issues when the vote. Term limits will insure neither.
          *
Again the donor class as they are now being called are the ones who insure that their message is the message that the American citizens hear from their candidate. It is up to the individual to make sure they listen to the candidate who are not backed by the donor class.

          • keath

Well stated Jon, —however you miss the point of limiting service. Politics should be a service not a career. The nominating process can be fixed/improved —but the real solution is an amendment that simply states ” No elected or appointed citizen can return to D.C. in any lobbying capacity, nor participate with a lobbying firm “. Take that money out of the process and we are better for it. It might work to the benefit of the republic.

          • Jon Exner

That is a nice line that politics should be a service not a career. Just where did you get that idea from. How about showing me that line in the Constitution of the United States of America put there by the founding fathers.
            *
This is nothing new, politics has always been a career. People get elected and have either decided to retire or get voted out of office.
            *
Show me where in the Constitution of the United States of America where YOU have the right to limit who I vote for because that is exactly what you are implying when you decide to implement term limits. That is exactly what they did when they implemented term limits for the President took away the right of the people to vote for the person that they believed most represented them. The minority depriving the majority of their right to vote for who they believed was the best choice.
            *
Just remember term limits apply to the good politicians as well as the bad politicians.
            *
Term limits are for those who can not string two coherent thoughts together to convince the voter that you are better than the incumbent. Money is the problem not term limits.
            *
What you call politics I call governance.
            *

          • keath

Money is the problem –bravo !! —now combine that reality to a pol. such as Reid, and you have the problem with not limiting time in D.C. —he should have been gone years ago, but money and lack of principle/integrity keeps him in office. Of course folks vote for him –he delivers pork. I get it —what you don’t get is the founders revered service and sacrifice to your community/state for the benefit of all. They couldn’t imagine the breadth of corruption and self-serving pols. who infest the Congress these days.
Saying people will limit their time in office by voting them out is flawed, as witnessed with Reid, Pelosi, McConnell et al.

          • Jon Exner

None are so blind as those who WILL NOT see.
            *
The reason that people like reid get re-elected time after time is that the during the primary and in the general election they are sponsored by the donor class with so much money their opponents can not get their message out.
            *
Add the bought and paid for media and that really put the stop to any good candidate from winning in the primary or general election.
            *
You don’t seem to understand that there are hundreds if not thousands of harry reid’s out there just waiting for someone with money to sponsor them to get elected and they will do exactly what they are asked to do by the donor class just like harry reid does.
            *
Every so often you get a good strong person like Trey Gowdy or even a Scott Walker who gets elected and what you propose is to limit their time in office.
            *
Great, throw out the baby with the bath water.

          • keath

Your use of simplistic euphemisms for career pols. is baffling —dude, I get it !!! Money corrupts pols. –but the longer they stay the more beholden they are to the $$ manipulators(donors) —ok ? —-now control the time and $$$ and maybe we can have representative governance. —Maybe.
Baby with water —not exactly man —just get fresh minds and thinking in the congress every 6-8 years and we could do better. —and yes I do understand your salient points —but me thinks limits and control of donor $$ is the answer.

          • Jon Exner

My name is not dude, so don’t be so rude.
            *
Do you think that the donor class like george soros much gives a crap if a persons name is harry reid or nancy pelosi?
            *
They will spend the same amount every election on joe blow as they do harry reid and get the same results.

          • Evan

You are correct! There are thousands of harry reid’s out here!
            They are all called DEMOCRAPS!

          • Jon Exner

And the donor class like george soros will buy every one of them term limits or not.

          • Jon Exner

Actually the republicans have their hairy reids also.
            *
Just received an e-mail that mcconnell says he will send a clean funding bill for DHS for a vote.
            *
I believe a lot of people have understood that mcconnell has secretly agreed with amnesty, open borders and increased legal immigration. I wonder if the people of Kentucky also agree with it as well.
            *
These worthless politicians seem to have forgotten that they were elected to represent the American citizens not illegal alien invaders.

          • Jon Exner

Hey keath if a person serves in the military should it only be for 2 years and not made a career?
            *

          • keath

Jon –military service is COMPLETELY different. No comparison to a pol. who deals in backroom deals and screws the voters for his/family/cronies personal gain. That is a terrible comparo –jeeeez.. I can’t believe you confuse mil. svc. with pols.. and of course G. Soros doesnt give a damn about who is in office, he just wants his pork delivered on time and often. Oh well —I agree with your contention that voting the bastards out is good –but it has become too convoluted with the donors et. al.

          • Jon Exner

I see your now the great decider of what is different.
            *
I will stand on my position that term limits will be as bad as what we have.
            *
As I have posted the donor class like george soros does not give a damn if your name is harry reid or nancy pelosi, he will spend as much money on joe blow to get the same result that we currently have.
            *
Term limits are not the answer.
            *
Here is another point, just how do the republicans get their message out so people can understand them and vote for them with leaders like boehner. He is the Speaker of the House and does not have the ability to coherently speak to people to convince them of anything.

      • Francisco Machado

How about EDUCATION? A rational assessment of candidates instead of popularity contests? – The ability to vote out any elected member of government already exists – term limits, however, restricts the ability to keep an effective legislator in office beyond the limited term. Term limits doesn’t prevent nepotism and doesn’t prevent election to other offices, e.g. House member running for Senate. How about the requirement for identification to vote? We need it for everything else. (Given that I need to present a birth certificate, SS card and two proofs of residence to RENEW my driver’s license I don’t see how very many of the illegal aliens will qualify for licenses despite legislation that makes them available).

    • SimplyZen

      Well said ! …

Article V Convention of the States to impose term limits on Congress / Supreme Court will go a very long way to righting this ship.

Repeal the 17th amendment and an amendment on capping taxing / spending by the Federal gov’t would be a close #2 priority. #1 is term limits. We need to get rid of the establishment politicians. Period.

Washington is not going to correct itself. This must be done outside of Washington. Short of civil war, the Constitution actually provides a legal recourse.

The alternative is to simply be sheeple and let the civil society gradually decay into utter chaos while this political ruling class destroys the country.

      • Jon Exner

I did not say anything about term limits for Congress, that is a recipe for disaster.
        *
        Read my reasoning below.

        • SimplyZen

Interesting thing about the filibuster rule. Harry Reid himself suspended that to cram through legislation that the Democrats wanted. That can be used again (against them this time) by a simple majority because this is, by definition, an appropriations bill – already passed and originated in the House.

Why there’s so much back and forth Kabuki theatre about “shutting down DHS” is beyond my understanding. 83% of that dept has been deemed “essential” personnel. That means they have to come to work while the politicians quibble over their budget.

The only way to disband that dept is by a Congressional act stating as much.

          • Jon Exner

            Agreed.
            *
Problem is that neither boehner nor mcconnell have the wherewithal to explain to the American citizens the negative impact of non stop amnesty programs. They are like deer in the head lights, stund

      • David Kledzik

John is right, sadly they would corrupt the system even more, plus when we get a good one like a Gowdy we want to keep him. Plus lets not mess with the Constitution, because then it leaves us open for repealing all of it, including the 2nd, 1rst, 4th, and 5th ammendments,,
        SEMPER FIDELIS 1983-2004

        • SimplyZen

The States convention has very specific rules associated with what-gets-discussed. There is very, very little danger of a runaway convention like you’re describing.

Might I suggest Mark Levin’s book – The Liberty Amendments published last year ?? It explains the process in minute detail and proposes 11 badly needed amendments in the book which improves upon the language of the original Constitution. It’s an excellent read.

          • David Kledzik

Own it, read it, its very good, but how about following the Constitution as it stands, its very clear
and concise as it is, I’m afraid once someone starts tampering with it, it then leaves the door open for more people with less than honorable intentions to totally and try and dismantle it,,
            SEMPER FIDELIS 1983-2004

          • SimplyZen

There’s always a danger in that. Granted. However, I strongly believe that danger is mitigated simply by the specific rules the States have to agree on ahead of time in order to send their respective delegates to discuss the amendments. Then there’s the ratification process.

I hate to have to ask but do you really expect Congress to do anything about Obama based on what you have seen in the past 6.5 years ? I dislike, no I despise the person in the White House more than any body in the world. I never refer to him as president because he is NOT my president. I did not vote for him ever. But we have 535 people in Congress that have us all fooled into thinking they are our representatives and we actually have a two party system. If they truly represented us they would have moved to rid the country of this cancer years ago. There has been legal grounds since before the election in 2008. They, with a very few exceptions, are “cowards” afraid they will be branded as “racists” by the liberals and MSM. If he was a Caucasian he would have been removed years ago. With that said, I know Congress will never do it’s authorized duty. I can only hope that the U.S. military will step up and arrest him and his entire administration for the traitors they are. “God Bless America”

A traitor to what this country is. Where people can have differences of opinion and the color of ones skin is not the issue but only the ideas behind the difference of opinion.

But don’t worry I understand that your intellectual ability to elaborate on your difference of opinion prohibits you from any other form of communication than racist remarks.

Then explain how 0bama isn’t a fucking nigger.

American Christians, if god is real, with Christians through out the world are the only ones that can detain the beast which is supposed to take over everyone until the coming of the lord that will vanquish him or her to hell with all of it’s followers, if he is real. With everything going on in the country and the world I believe more people are going to be killed by their own countries including ours than in anytime in human history. So I believe the beast is ready to be let out. I don’t think it is Obama though because he is more like a smart jester than a beast that will be king. Obama is just trying to make it’s entrance easier.

I love this guy, how can we get him in the race for the presidency?

  • farrightwing

dittos 1mikejanz1 rusticman, but not for President, he is more needed in the House. My choice for President is Scott Walker of Wisconsin, a man who has beaten the Unions,Democrats, and their media rump swabs four (4) times. He is tough enough to beat back whatever they throw at him.

I still say Trey should be speaker!! He hit on what the Demon Rats SHOULD be concerned about IT IS about the separation of powers!!! They will scream to high heaven WHEN the next republican over reaches their authority!!! I am a conservative to the max but BOTH parties need to be reigned in because IF the Constitution is going to continue to work it MUST be obeyed by ALL!!!

  • rightsright

How about Attorney General, when we can try the White House liar, phony, foreigner, along with Holder, Jarrett and many, many others? 2016!

  • Mike

Gowdy is one of a few beating back our enemies from within. As a patriot I think he’d be one to organize a military charge. I never thought I’d see the day people of this country would have to go to the length we have to go just to protect our rights. And it won’t get any better.

  • Roy Clingenpeel

We have an administration inciting if not orchestrating terrorist aggression to cover its own assault on the US citizens using illegals to foster their agenda of domestic dominance. Terroristic threats or incidents seem to take place when critical legislation is necessary to fund their agendas. Divide and conquer is their tool, oligarchic dominance is his goal. We have a congress that is either too stupid to understand his subversive tactics or they are in concert with him to take down our republic. Their final goal is to join the one world syndrome of economic equality and physical slavery under a form of socialism or an Islamic caliphate. Prophecy may be taking place or beginning to unfold. Only God has the master plan.

  • ADR

The judge ruled against the Obama amnesty, so why would the Senate GOP cave to the Dems to defund the illegal practice? Besides, what makes anyone think Obama will obey the court order?

  • xingqin

Trey Gowdy stands up to defend justice and we are a land of laws that need enforced. We need men like Trey Gowdy, Ted Cruz, Mike Lee, Rand Paul and others who take their oath of office seriously.

  • used_to_be_a_liberal

Gowdy as A G, can you imagine what he could and would do as A G, little miss “what difference does it make” would be running for the hills. The people behind “fast and furious” would be running for cover, and then there is the I R S, Benghazi, could this guy clean house or what.

    • SimplyZen

In theory, Hildebeast has agreed to come before his committee, presumably to “air out” her bullsh*t talking points about Benghazi before she goes full tilt into her POTUS run.

Dunno when that’ll take place. However, with this go-round, Trey does have special prosecutorial powers (absent from other hearings) to get answers from her in a public fashion.

With any luck, she’ll abandon her foolish, power-mad quest, make a deal with Gowdy – she spills the beans on Obummer. (No love lost between them) in return for going away quietly and leaving the public limelight for good and hope that Trey doesn’t prosecute her to the fullest extent of the law.

      • used_to_be_a_liberal

I do not disagree with you Zen, but I do wonder if Gowdy would have more clout, more power, and far more authority as A G, then he has with this committee. I also think that as A G, he would have the use of the F B I etc.. behind him too. It would sure be nice to see a few of them nailed before the election.

        • SimplyZen

Amen to that. He’d be a H*LL of a great AG. As far as the election cycle goes, I don’t have any faith any of these thugs will see justice until there’s a GOP POTUS. Obummer will step down, yes. However, that alone shouldn’t make him immune from prosecution (along with Holder).

This country needs to spend the next few years taking a breather from this nightmare and trying to heal / get over it when the grownups are finally back in charge.

          • used_to_be_a_liberal

JUST READ SOMETHING ABOT THE ALLUMINATI AT ANONYMOUSMAGS.COM
REALLY OBAMA IS A BIG PART OF THE ILLUMINATI !!!!!!!

  • Roy Clingenpeel

The states, the people, can take back their authority by imposing their own number of terms their representative and senators can serve. The length of each term is dictated by the Constitution and not the number of times they are able to serve. Some states have already done so and also most have done the same with their governors. We don’t want to give this or any other congress the opportunity to amend the people’s freedom out of the constitution. The state legislators can force a constitutional convention but congress still is in charge and has the authority to amend it as the please once it is in session. The founders had it right but the states have capitulated their authority through their own politicians to maintain control. The process must be understood or the people will loose. The key is voting for patriots not career politicians. Our current national government is a perfect example of how we have screwed it up though greed and disinterest. We thought it would happen with another party in control, but a politician is a politician no matter what animal they use for a logo. Greed, power and control is their agendas.

  • Crystal Mourad

Get a life Trey! Maybe if you did your job the President would not have to do it for you. Its time for Republicans to get off their lazy butts and do something constructive like earn their pay package, instead off being armchair critics!

    • Janeen Alley

yeah, let’s let Obama continue to break the law every step of the way. WTF is wrong with you people? Send the f**king slime ball low life’s back to their home countries & make them stay there! The criminal illegals cost us taxpayers $679 BILLION a year! Congress is doing their job, it is the CRIMINAL in the white house that isn’t doing HIS job!!!!!!!!

    • SimplyZen

Hey Igon, Congress “considered” the proposal by the amnesty crowd over a year ago.

They decided (rightfully so) at that time not to go through with it.

That the President is having a temper tantrum because they’re not cow-towing to his demands, well, TOUGH SH*T. Congress is under NO obligation to do anything about your so-called amnesty in the first place ! In fact, the greater bulk majority of the American people do not want this to begin with. (If the mid-term elections of 2014 were any indicator, you and your ilk have SOME nerve preaching this crap now !)

The POTUS doesn’t have Harry Reid running cover for him anymore.

    • Red55bird

So let me get this right, the President can in your mine dictate over the Constitution that even he said over 22 times he does not have the power to do so. Crystal it’s because of the Constitution that you can say really stupid statements and not have any fear of being shot dead by a dictator like the North Korean leader who had half his family shot dead. Go fine a liberal blog and vent your Communist agenda with some one who may agree with you.

Thank You Mr. Trey Gowdy. That is very good of you to try and serve the people in an useless trash of so called lawmakers. It must be very hard to work and care being among such trash all day every day. And to see them getting away with such actions you must feel that there are few Americans left and this may be true but the ones that are left they totally respect you.

  • apzzyk

I think that Mr. Gowdy should look in the mirror to find the source of this great ‘immigration problem’., which has more attention than I think it is due, and is currently based more on myth than on actual truth – it is just another boogie man. Just as there are some people who still, after the Civil Rights Act of 1964, want to keep the country ‘pure’ by keeping African Americans out of the mainstream, many of these same people – no matter what the cost – want to keep the Mexicans out of the Country. The result, is that Congress has not kept up with the times and taken care of the problem by passing realistic laws for over the past 30 years or so. The Area where I live in CO was dependent on seasonal migratory labor to do the really hard work from planting through harvesting, then go back to Mexico to return the next year to do the same – they really had their homes in Mexico and they just came here for the work, to save money so that they and their families in Mexico could live a slightly better life.
Then the stupid rumors started flying about how these illegals were just coming into the US to get on our welfare system – this was by far the exception rather than the rule, but about 10 years ago Congress passed a law that no one in the country illegally could get any federal benefit. Just re-screening those already getting benefits, cost more than it saved – two states which accounted for this extra work found that it cost about $100 to save each 50 cents, so those few were eliminated, but the rumor persists to the extent that I heard it repeated again at the American Legion Post where I belong just weeks ago.
My point here is that this whole thing on illegals is probably not really cost effective, and that the taxpayers money could be better spent elsewhere.
The first step in trying to close the border and send those back who don’t belong is to identify them. These raids on packing houses, etc., because of the numbers sound great, but in terms of identifying even 10% of the 12 or so Million in the country would really take a lot of work and taxpayer money. Just with the ‘Dream’ temporary amnesty, there were probably more than 10% of the total who came forward to report themselves, and this saved the taxpayer probably billions of dollars, and now that they are known, the government is actually able to track them to see what they are doing, just through public records. This second group – the parents of US Citizens, is estimated to be at about 5 million people – so the total has been probably about half of those here will report themselves, and they too, will be able to be tracked. All of this disclosure only cost the taxpayers a very small faction of what it would have cost to locate them in some other way.
Until they really got nuts about this non-problem, when I needed to have brush cleared from my fences, I could go to the local place where the day laborors hung out, pick up as many as would be needed for the day, bring them home, get the work done, and send them off will some cash. As a private person, I do not have access to the data base for checking the status on these people, so I imagine there have been illegals among them, but I got the work done and am happy. Now, with this craizness, I have been trying to hire kids or students to do the same work for the same amount in the same time, and no one seems to want to work, so the brush pile that I am making keeps getting higher and sometime I am going to have to hire someone with a big truck to haul it away at multiple times what I would have paid had there still been day labor available. At 75 and living on a fixed income, this is a great expense which I may or may not be able to afford. The bottom line, is that these people who may be in the US do not compete with US citizens for these types of jobs – they are too hard and too dirty for most around here.
By Congress just sitting around not willing to do anything realistic, and placing all of their attention on the relatively few who think that this is a major issue, it now has become an issue without a possible solution. According to the DOJ it costs an average of $500,000 to deport each illegal, so do the math – that would be more than the entire federal budget for at least a year – raising taxes cannot be done, and taxing poverty does not work, so where is the money. In FY 2013, the drones alone on a 170 mile streatch of border cost about $27,000 for each illegal apprehended – those were the new ones who probably did not fight deportation, but now there are those calling for increasing the area by over 10 times and flying the drones longer, so where is the money? That is just trying to keep the new ones out, and it will not be more than about 75% effective anyway.
By the way, the $27,000 is about the poverty rate for a family of 4. Is it worth it?

  • Jackys

Near as I can tell…the 5th Circuit will not take the appeal…and as well .. the SCOTUS. So, the Texas Judges decision will stand…..end of this nightmare….not till June though. Have to watch what Holder/Hussein…really Jarrett do tween now and then. Gonna be ugly and un Constitutional, to say the least.

  • RMCSRET

I just want to know why I haven’t seen a Republican or Democrat concerned with the safety of the United States out on every news
show telling the American people exactly how the Senate Democrats and the President are selling the country down the river.

  • MILES E DRAKE

This will be one of the pivotal moments in American history, at which the relationship between the executive branch and the rest of the government will be decided. It is clear that Obama or Soetoro or whatever his name really is intends to establish a presidential republic of the kind he observed growing up in Kenya or while attending madrassah in Indonesia. The “big man” is elected by hook or crook, usually crook, and is then in charge until the next election, or usually until he is eventually driven out by a revolution. The “congress” exists to rubber stamp his decrees, and the “courts” are overruled by the president instead of the other way around. It already appears that the regime’s scheme for invasion ands population replacement is being pushed with redoubled intensity despite the judge’s ruling, and it is quite possible that an adverse Supreme Court ruling on this or on the current challenge to Obamacare will result in an open declaration of executive supremacy which will unquestionably require impeachment.

  • Gerry Panzica

and, much to your dismay, the EXECUTIVE ORDER falls within the boundaries of the Constitution!!!!
    It is LEGAL!!!!!

    • the American

Wrong, it was an executive “memo” instructing dhs to change the law, a big no no, can’t do it under any circumstances.

    • SimplyZen

Executive orders, prior to this President, always had the backing of Federal law behind it. The purpose of them was to clarify (expedite) said law in order to effectively (and faithfully) execute it.

This administration has abused the Executive Order powers (and prosecutorial discretion) time and again throughout its tenure. In fact, they’re increasingly brazen about their actions because noone in Congress is standing up to defend separation of powers – which is crucial to a Republic. Obama’s even gone so far as to create law out of thin air. This is something well documented by this recent “cease and desist” order from this Texas judge on executive amnesty.

Note: Every time one of his executive actions has been taken up in the courts, it’s been gunned down – even by liberal judges.

  • BrooklynJoJo

I wish Trey Gowdy would run for president, he is the only that says what he means and means what he says about this fake obummer

  • David in MA

I’m leery about SCOTUS enforcing the Constitution, they have either gone against it in the near past, or close to it, that they appear to be on Obama’s “payroll.”

  • Bayez

Trey Gowdy as President…I’m for it 110%….

  • Thomas Goss

We need more people like Trey Gowdy in Washington. Someone who is there to represent the people and do their job. Someone who ,is willing to uphold the Constitution of the United States. I don’t have much use for politicians but I do like this guy. If only he held a more important job in Washington, something that could keep America safe.

  • Randall

Thanks Mr Gowdy, we all need to stand against treason and tyranny!!
Everybody needs to read the book Plundered, how progressive ideology is destroying America, by Michael S. Coffman P.H.D. To understand all that is and has been going on to destroy our country.

  • snowyriver

T Gowdy and O North on the Repubican ticket in 2016 will be an unbeatable combination.

  • Michael Pickett

Trey should be in the leadership of the GOP and the wimps there now should resign or be voted out!

  • johnnydow

Wait until all the stuff he’s doing in secret, like the millions in work permits, is discovered and reported by conservative media. Most criminal Administration ever by a long way!

  • Phyllis Schultz

Thanks to Trey Gowdy, one of the few people who will stick to his principles and isn’t afraid to say what the majority of Americans are feeling. More of our Senators and Representatives should have his backbone.

  • MIKE CHEATWOOD

kick his mussie ass and take names TRAY GOWDY for most educated people with a first grade ed. knows who this hussian is he, hussian is the biggest joke since the ford pinto and the chev. corvair his ass nees to be put out to pasture by people who can tell when something is a damn joke some people made a damn big mistake and some really don’t give a rats ass as long as freebies keep rolling in,but when heads start rolling off from hussian setting on his green queen throne maybe just maybe you all will wake the hell up!!!!!! • Steven W

The world knows he knows we know he knows we know that he doesn’t care about US.

  • Jim Falisi

All the illegal immigrants included the kids should be “DEPORTED”!!! Obama can go with them and stay there as far as I am concerned, who the hell needs him here!

  • dextermassolettisr

Until and unless the Law is enforced it matters little who is in government, or any position of authority; the ‘News’ cannot be trusted any more than the courts or their decisions — DHS and the regime are such serous threats to the security of the nation, actively working to destroy the Union, the Republic, even Western Civilization — which is their biggest dream I’m sure.
I am tired of hearing prisoners are frustrated, feel trapped &c, when as criminals that is the very reason they are incarcerated; I’m tired of hearing all the ways the victim can possibly be blamed for the behavior of the perpetrator. Most of all I am tired of all those given the power to enforce the law using it against the people who are the true holders of that power but fed garbage to weaken them so thy can be buried under bogus laws.
So, must we wait then, until such time, as always comes, when the lesser criminals rise up to take out those who fail enough in their ugly enterprises and some enforcement comes from the surviving working man?

  • jillocity

i SO totally agree with him, if you truly want to be informed as to 0bama’s illegal actions, read this:

    http://www.judicialwatch.org/obama-overreach/i/POTUS-Will-Wait-Special-Report-PDF.pdf

it is Judicial Watch’s document on 0bama, it’s long but once i started reading the extent of his illegal actions, i couldn’t stop…we know it’s bad…i KNEW it was bad, but i read this and was appalled at how bad it truly is…Trey Gowdy is right, 0bama HAS TO BE STOPPED!!!

  • Terry V

Well if it goes to the Supreme Court obama will get his way because he has all ready put the ones their that he needs to do what he wants

  • mojomathman

I read as many of these as I could stand. You are all “idiots” yes I mean card carrying mouth breathing uneducated dimwits. Yes Trey you as well. Your a store bought empty suit and most people know it. Its just the people on this site who don’t have the intelligence or “balls” to vet YOU out. You people bore me, you couldn’t find a solution if you had a koolaide packet in one hand and a glass of water in the other.

    • the American

Right, you mean, demwits. The card carriers would be the card carrying communists in the demwit leftard party….i guess your ok with lawlessness and 3rd world-like corruption in our government…sounds just like south of the border to me…i know, i know, there’s this little inconvenient thing called “the constitution” …it kind of gets in your way now doesn’t it demwit?..what a shame, darn, we have to stick to it, and “oh yeah”…it doesn’t allow for ocommie to do anything he is doing, this unconstitutional executive amnesty crap….i guess that’s just tough titties for all you dumb, ignorant, lie-beral America haters…..shove it and your condescending, empty, lying moronic rhetoric , you’re not as smart as you think you are. I’m so sick of you idiots i don’t give a crap what excuses you make to sell out MY country, keep it up and its going to get downright ugly, it’s time to restore the rule of law, enough of this circumventing the will of the people crap, just who do you demwits think you are?

      • mojomathman

“The American” ! What a joke. You sold out this country when you sided with the right wing. Its for the people and by the people. The Right Wing has ignored “the people” and sold the middle class to the highest bidder. Your not Americans or Christians or Patriots or Constitutionalists or whatever you are hiding behind this week. They sold you a bill a bill of goods by hitting your emotions at the knees then picked your pocket while you bent over to pick up your musket. You guys are still using the reptilian part of your brain. Go back and read the constitution and look for the thousands of places the right wing crapped all over it. If you have the Balls.
You have been duped. No true Conservative would allow the Right Wing to do what they have done. Only an emotionally charged “Radical”.
Conservative my ass. Your not sick of Democrats or Independents or Liberals or mathematicians or science, or Real Christians, Your Sick of the Documented Truth and it always getting in the way of your visceral blindness and hatred of progress and how it always points out your bigotry. If I told you I would kill all the Liberals and Muslims and Blacks (Yes even the elderly and their children) if I could just pick your pocket of the dreams and education of “your” children , you would trust me in a heartbeat…. wouldn’t you???? Don’t you see what you have become??? Your not an American, your not a Conservative, you are nothing more than a “Radical” Regressive, Bigot propped up with a rifle up your ass that was designed by the wealthy people who TOOK your country and “sold” you your perception. Who’s the idiot ???? And now You just wasted 5 minutes of my time.

        • the American

DEAD wrong on all accounts, i have never abdicated or supported killing any blacks, muslims, or leftards. I wouldn’t support anyone pushing that agenda either….I side with the American people, period. Call me a nativist if you like, it doesn’t matter to me….your right, by the people, for the people, so where’s the representation of the American people? ..not from this treasonous bastard in the white house i assure you and no, he doesn’t know better than Americans do for what is best for them. We don’t have a monarchy last time I checked…ruling by unconstitutional executive fiat is just that, unconstitutional. …there’s nothing you can say to escape that fact.. ..and yes, i can’t stand progressives, they are not about progress at all, what a crock of shit. they are a complete cancer that is at the very core of what is wrong with American society today, it needs to be slapped down every time it rears it’s ugly lying head, enough of revisionist lies and we owe no one an apology for being what we are, appeasement is for the weak, just ask ocommie.

          • mojomathman

You don’t have to apologize for being Nativist or what you are in general. That IS protected in the Constitution. But you don’t side with the educated American people. Don’t fool yourself there. An Obstructionist Congress acts more like a Monarchy then the executive office at this point in history. Don’t get confused there either. It is however Unconstitutional to deny the people an education and their inalienable rights and the pursuit of happiness and the right to vote, which is the standard agenda for the people you support. If you dare to peel back the onion a few layers you will see what is actually going on You will see that the American “people” you say you speak for are taking it in the shorts by the ones controlling YOUR emotions and perceptions. That’s right, YOUR family, friends and neighbors. GWB made more executive orders that went against the constitution than any other president in recent history. And the cost in dollars, rights, jobs and human life will take decades to pay back. Where were you then? Face the truth. There is more to your motivation and anger than an executive order issue. Cmon…. admit it. You can bark about progress and the real math that runs the economy and our children’s future all you want, you have that right. But your children are going to remind you of the mistakes you made and the future is going to make you eat your words with turpentine. Do some real investigation outside the bubble you share with Limbaugh and Hannity and Searcy and Cruz and Palin, and King and look at the real numbers. Show some real courage and leadership and look for Real solutions not RED MEAT to froth over. The problem is hiding right in your own back yard and you can’t see it from the “Bushes” they are hiding behind. I like your proactive attitude but you are looking in the places for the problem. Anger is easy, facing the real truth takes courage.
            Good luck with that.

          • the American

one last comment and then I will end this conversation… I wasn’t a bush supporter either ..
just as bad if not worse than what we have now…..I’m probably younger than what you think I am

  • millerstwo

Todays Republican Party no longer represents true conservative ideals and values as it has morphed into a pseudo-progressive, pseudo intellectual abomination referred to as RINO!
Trey Gowdy, Rand Paul, Michele Bachmann, Ted Cruz and Mike Lee are representative of the precious few true patriots remaining in Congress who continue to spread the word of real conservatism. I fear though that the fates of Sarah Palin and Col. Allen West who were privately and publically destroyed by the wrath of the Democrat and “REPUBLICAN” Party’s awaits them also!
Bottom line is the “good old boy” politicians are scared to death of these young, bright patriots because they refuse to be intimidated or “play the game” as was the case when Sarah Palin took on some crooked Republicans (her own Party) when Governor of Alaska forcing some out of office and others some jail time.
The brave conservatives mentioned above plus the ever growing numbers of like minded fellow conservatives in Congress knowingly and willingly put themselves at risk with the realization that they are the last vestige of hope for a FREE America!
This is real folks and thank God we still have patriots like these few brave conservatives willing to “buck the system” at their peril and who need our help to continue their efforts to ‘throw out’ the present Marxist regime, please help them help America…DONATE damn it !!!!
I can’t believe I just said that….donate?, but it’s true they need money in order to run and they sure won’t get it from traditional donors, grass roots is us my friends !

  • Sarah417

All of you are wrong. Ted Cruz is eligible, BUT he has been a government worker his entire adult life. He is a lawyer. Trey Gowdy is a lawyer. Do you really want a lawyer, government worker in the WH? Of course you don’t. We’ve had enough of these gov. workers and ivy league, skull and crossbones dolts who don’t know their a$$ from a hole in the ground. We need real people for a change. We need Gov.Scott Walker, President and Dr.Ben Carson VIP.

    • the American

I agree with some of what you say but Ted Cruz and Trey Gowdy would be a complete 180 from the garbage we have in the white mosque right now…at least they don’t contradict themselves and they stand up for the constitutional rule of law and they are both against amnesty…..have you ever watched either one of them gruel demwits in Congress over their support of unconstitutional actions?….did you watch what Gowdy did to gruber or what Cruz did to disgusting hack dianne feinstein to her face in Congress?

      • Sarah417

You are setting a very low bar if you would chose Cruz or Gowdy just because you don’t like what’s in the WH now. Come on, there are some God loving, honest constitutional driven people out there who really love America. I’ll name two Gov.Scott Walker and Dr.Ben Carson. I would love to see Walker/Carson 2016. The reason to chose Walker as President is he has shown America what he is made of and he doesn’t back down under pressure. He has made good choices for Wi. Dr. Carson has to learn the ropes first. How to get around the Beltway Boys and he will be ready to take the helm in eight yrs when Walker ends his two terms. God bless America.

        • the American

          I understand and agree.

        • the American

I’m just saying we cannot discount their contributions, without them fighting on our side, it would be much worse if that’s possible.

          • Sarah417

I do like Trey Gowdy. He appears to be a good man and quite a competent lawyer. He presents the evidence well and a good follow through. However, has he made any progress with Benghazi and Hillary? As for Ted Cruz I do not care for his demeanor at all. He’s a real turn-off and I have researched his background and he is a die-hard government servant, lawyer and we don’t need another lawyer.

Who we like and don’t like is of no matter. The American people have no choice. The NWO has already chosen for us as they have for the last 60 yrs. You can bet it will be between Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton. If voting made any difference, they wouldn’t let us do it……..Mark Twain

          • the American

they aren’t letting him cross examine killary publicly …that’s why there has been no progress made …not to mention the administration obstructing justice…if there’s nothing to hide they shouldn’t act so suspicious about it.

  • Brenda E. Isajiw

I really would vote for Trey Gowdy for president too. I think he’s the “cat’s meow” for lack of a better way to describe him. Please, please judges, supreme court, etc., give Mr. Gowdy what he’s rightfully asking for and protect our country’s constitutional rights.

  • mare

Gowdy for Attorney General, Gowdy for VP, Gowdy for President…….. RUN TREY RUN!!!!!!

  • Chancisify

Got utmost admiration and respect for Gowdy—One man who isn’t afraid to speak out against the dis respectable/despicable office holders. I’d be a happy camper with Trey as Prez–think about it if any conservative got elected and placed in his administration all the other fine conservatives–we might be able to retake our country from the despicables.

  • mojomathman

“American” thank you for our debate. Still I keep hearing all this blather about Ted Cruz? Are you people serious? Senator Ted Cruz??? he won’t make it past a debate with the bottom 3 people in the Republican Primary much less an electoral deficit !! That’s like sending in Howdy Doody to battle with Godzilla.!! I don’t care if he was born in Washington DC or “MARS”
There isn’t a Republican alive that can make it into the White House in 2016. !! You have already shown the country that you are willing to waste our time on whining, childish, playpen ” Toy Throwing” AND… The GOP knows it. And if the current congress and senate don’t come up with any “Real” leadership in the next 2 years one of those houses is going to flip back as well. You have to have solutions to the current financial problems in this country and the party of “NO” doesn’t have any. NONE that will increase job growth, grow the middle class, educate our children or protect an aging America. Believe me, I’m a card carrying Capitalist. I would love to see some concrete mathematically sound ideas. BUT…. Nothing I have heard from the GOP will work. Follow the money, do the math. Your hearts and your hard earned money have been stolen by Greed Mongers. Quit wasting time throwing spitballs at a president who is on his way out and show the American people you can still “Lead” instead of “Bleed” the middle class. Its the only hope you have.

  • J. Ernst

This discourse is that TREY exemplifies is of GREATER importance than Executive initiatives!
TREY would be an EXCELLENT President, in that he is of EXECUTIVE stature and is truly a Representative/supporter of the United States! Sadly, I believe the cia/mossad connection would assassinate him in short order…like JFK, RFK, and the attempt on Reagan…all Americans with OUR interest in the front of their ideals.

The Card-Carrying, listed SOCIALISTS in this Congressional Body are TOO NUMEROUS to be ignored. They are easily vetted for what they actually are signed up for and inevitably SUPPORT! And, they are NOT signed up to PROTECT AND PROMOTE the Constitution of the United States of America!!! They have “taken the oath” to the Constitution, but they ACT AGAINST IT!!! Therefore they are traitors in peace-time!
Trey has the LANGUAGE and STAMINA of a TRUE AMERICAN. The NWO minions with the TITLE of representative MUST BE IGNORED AND OUT-VOTED IN TOTAL if we, U.S., are to continue as a TRUE SOVEREIGN NATION!!! Be they Demorats or RHINO’s, we MUST support those who ACTUALLY support our Constitution through their ACTIONS NOT THEIR WORDS!!!

  • Libtardharvestor

OUTSTANDING! I got excited enough that my wife came in to see what I was making so much fuss about! I hope everyone in and out of Congress hears This speech! Thank you Mr Gowdy! Praise God!

  • sylvia

congressman trey gowdy and ted cruz would make an excellent team for the White House..both sensible and outspoken.

  • Thomas Goss

Trey Gowdy has the guts to say what millions of us true Americans want to say everyday. Thank you sir and keep up the good fight.

  • Thomas Goss

Trey Gowdy is one of the very few in Washington that I have any respect for, he does his job, trying to get at the truth. If only we had more people in Washington like him. I wish he had a more powerful job, one where he could find Obama is a lying muslim ILLEGAL and get his ass out of office before he c
    ompletely destroys my country.

  • MIKE CHEATWOOD

OBAMA REPEADELY SAID HE WAS NOT A KING, YOU KNOW HE TOLD THE TRUTH ONE TIME SINCE STEALING THE HOUSE, HE IS THE GREEN QUEEN LONG LEGGED MACHINE JUST GOTO PASTOR MANNING . COM. PEOPLE DO KNOW WHO KNEW HIM YRS. AGO. GO GREEN QUEEN, YOU CAN TELL THE DAMN TRUTH OCCASIONALLY!!!!!!

  • DERRELLCRAWFORD

if enough people would get on the band wagon and make enough noise we could make the people who are representing the people to get a court order and unseal the records of the illegal immigrant who hijacked the presidency in the name of NATIONAL SECURITY for that is where all our problems are greated
