It’s bad for your campaign when a pollster and strategist for a Democratic president says one of your scandals could be the worst of all time.
That’s exactly what Pat Caddell said in a recent interview on Breitbart News:
“As a Democratic presidential candidate, you know you are in tough shape when other Democrats are publicly calling your actions as Secretary of State worse than Watergate.
“Appearing on Brietbart News on Sirius XM, pollster and strategist for former President Jimmy Carter, Pat Caddell, told host Stephen Bannon, just that.
“‘This is the greatest scandal in the history of the United States. They all ought to be indicted. This is worse than Watergate.’
“If you are unfamiliar with Watergate, it is probably the most infamous scandal that is attributed to President Richard Nixon, and caused the former president to resign from office in disgrace. It began when men broke into the headquarters of the Democratic National Party at the Watergate Complex.
“They were caught in the act of trying to wire tap the phone lines of Democratic officials, and investigators were able to tie the group to the Republican Party. The attempt was to spy on the political enemies of the administration. Nixon, who is believed to have had nothing to do with the break-in, ordered the subsequent cover up.”
The FBI demanded access to those tapes, but Nixon stonewalled the attempts to have the tapes from being handed over, kind of like Hillary Clinton when she was trying to destroy evidence that could implicate her of breaking federal laws.
Although Nixon was never indicted of any charges, he was considered a co-conspirator of Watergate, and eventually resigned as President.
Hillary Clinton broke the law by sending top secret information over a personal server that was against the rules to be used in the first place as Secretary of State. And instead of apologizing to the American people or resigning her office, she’s decided to steamroll ahead and run for the highest office in the land.
Caddell also criticized Clinton on using the Clinton Foundation, a non-profit charity to accept donations from foreign governments, in an effort to allegedly gain favors from the then-Secretary of State Hillary Clinton:
“They were selling out the national interests of the United States directly to adversaries and others for money.”
This is pretty damning criticism, especially from a former Democratic political strategist and pollster. However, Caddell has been refreshingly honest about corruption from both Republicans and Democrats.
Although Hillary may not face any consequences in the short-term future… do you think that history will treat her worse than Richard Nixon and Watergate?
