Glenn Beck has said some really crazy things in the past year. However, his latest remarks may only be partially crazy… and include some slivers of truth.
Here’s the not-quite-Cuckoo-For-Cocoa Puffs report from Western Journalism:
“Sharing an apocalyptic vision of post-election America, conservative talk show host Glenn Beck predicted the disaster of a Hillary Clinton presidency and the passions inflamed by the candidacy of Donald Trump will lead to a potentially violent organization along the lines of Black Lives Matter.
“Beck accused Trump of ‘making a new group of Black Lives Matter.’
“This group is not defined by race, but by disaffection with the system, Beck said.
“‘He’s making a new group of people that so distrust and hate the system that they will buy anything. It was a rigged election, the media ought to go to jail, and it’s these Republicans, and not look at whose leading that. OK. Same thing. Same thing. They start with a good reason like Black Lives Matter,’ he said.
“Beck said the angry and alienated Trump supporters will have real grievances after the election because a Clinton presidency is ‘going to be a nightmare’ and the economy will suffer serious reverses.
“As a result, the Trump supporters who feel the system is against them will fight against the media, the Republican party and the entire political system.”
Beck went onto say how he thought this anti-establishment anger could manifest:
“… Trump will fan the flames of discontent through his own cable network and ‘reinforce all the things that his little conspiratorial world is and it will draw those people in and it will keep them locked in.’
“Hard economic times and an inflammatory message can only lead to one result, Beck said.
“It will galvanize them and when Hillary Clinton goes awry, which she will, those people are going to be our … I don’t want to say Black Lives Matter because I hope they won’t get violent, but maybe they will. I don’t know.
“Beck has also been a critic of liberal bias in the media, but he said in a speech Friday at the annual RedStateGathering that Trump is wrong to whip up a vengeful tone against the media.
“‘What law has the press broken? When people start shouting, ‘put the press in jail,’ we’re in deep, deep trouble.‘”
A big part of Trump’s success is his willingness to call out the media on not just their bias, but outright advocacy for liberal Democrats like Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. Instead of criticizing conservatives and Republicans for calling out rigged elections and a corrupt government, Beck should be asking: “Are conservatives justified in criticizing this rampant corruption and press propaganda in America?”
We disagree with Beck’s comparison of conservatives to the radical liberal group Black Lives Matter (BLM). And we don’t think that Trump alone could spark and start an American uprising. Most conservatives are independent thinkers who don’t like the direction our country is headed, and want to do something about it.
However, Fredrick Douglass said: “A man’s rights rest in three boxes: The ballot box, the jury box, and the cartridge box.” When the first two options are corrupt or don’t provide justice, what are law-abiding citizens left with?
Do you agree with Glenn Beck that we could see a revolution under a Hillary Clinton presidency?
