Republicans serving in the Senate are bluntly stating that they will not tolerate the farce being pushed by House Democrats.
As Democrats slowly gain support among their own party members to call for President Donald Trump’s impeachment, the GOP held Senate is stating that no such thing is going to happen.
“I think it would be disposed of very quickly,” said Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Lindsey Graham. “If it’s based on the Mueller report, or anything like that, it would be quickly disposed of.”
Sen. John Cornyn chimed in sharing that this was why Democrats knew they could not succeed and was why they “were all talk.”
“It would be defeated. That’s why all they want to do is talk about it,” Cornyn said. “They know what the outcome would be.”
Meanwhile, Sen. Thom Tillis has some of the harshest rebukes yet, “Why on earth would we give a platform to something that I judge as a purely political exercise?” said Tillis. “We have to perform our constitutional duty, but if people think that we’re going to try and create a theater that could give you the perception that this is a matter that rises to the level of Watergate, that’s nonsense.”
There it is, as it stands even if Democrats push for impeachment Republicans won’t have it. Democrats know this which proves that all they are doing with their actions now is wasting time hoping Trump will lose in 2020.
